How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewclose to the central station.
No buffet for the breakfast. The toilet does not flush. Awful lighting. More like an B&B instead of a hotel.
What is served for breakfast is written in the brochure before booking. For lighting we don't know what she wanted or we will have made her find the Salerno lights. The toilet that does not discharge but why invent these idiocies that the checks on the rooms are carried out every day to guarantee the efficiency of each service. What I find bad are you customers with these inconsistent behaviours.

Verified reviewLocation was good in terms of public transportation.
Cigaret smoke in corridors, you had to use flashligt to see keyhole to your room. Not any politeness from the staff. The surroundings was unsafe. I don't recommend. Poor value to money. One star hotel but four star prices.
Cigarette smoke in the corridors when the property is entirely non-smoking. The first person to complain about the quality of light in so many years of activity was perhaps she who had poor eyesight. The courtesy of the staff is appreciated by all guests also in other reviews, so much so that the scheduled time for breakfast is at 8, we have committed ourselves throughout your stay (6 days) to let you have breakfast in advance at the scheduled time (6:30 am) also bothering the pastry chef to prepare breakfast before. The value for money, we deeply believe in the period you chose that 4-star hotels did not have a price like the one you went to pay (€90 per night). The surrounding environment was dangerous, and the same area that is in all the big cities of the world if you choose the central station as the area. Maybe she wrote these insunts and meanness, for the simple reason that we realised that she had broken the room's energy card to leave all the power outlets active to charge her devices and leave the air conditioner on, from 7 in the morning that went down until late in the evening that she returned. She is an outlaw and has no sense of precaution, without considering that leaving all those things on something could happen in the accommodation and in the building and so on. From hospitalisation.

Verified reviewThe shower was good.
The sink (in toilet) was incredibly small. Unsuitable for washing hands, or face, or shaving. There was no toiled seat plastic raising seat cover. The male on reception was especially unkind, and he insisted in the end that check-out was at 10.30, in spite of the fact that it is advertised as 11.00. The street of the hotel is full of garbage, papers, plastic bags, ...
Meanwhile, starting from the specification of the accommodation, in the bathroom of the room there are a toilet, sink and bidet. We have never heard and much less never seen someone wash their hands, shave and so on in a bidet, but as life has taught us you have to do these needs in the sink. Regarding the check-out, if the time indicated is not respected by her as it was 11:40 and she was still in the room and wanted to let other people in as well. Really squalid people and to be avoided.

Verified reviewIt was a great location right by the train station, which is good.
It was very hard to get to your room, the surrounding area is a little scary.
We don't know by idiot what he means and what he refers to. To reach the room there are either stairs or the elevator with ease. Then for the area it is not our competence and it is the same that is found in all the big cities of the world if you choose the central station.

Verified reviewmanager and staff were pleasant
the room we got called for a large bed. Not so, it was 2 single mattresses on a single platform. the mattresses had seen better days, they weren’t comfortable at all. to add insult to injury there was a big gap between the 2 mattresses. we didn’t sleep well We also wonder why we had made a reservation at Iris Hotel and got transferred to BnB Enea one floor below in the same building. All together the room didn’t have any character other than the many post-it signs on all the walls. The toilet tank holder was modified to get the least amount of water usage. The toiletries consisted in a single bootle of general cleaning detergent. The Wi-fi was sporadic and the view of the courtyard was horrible because of the opposing building ‘s renovation.
You simply had to specify in the reservation the preference for the bed, since you did not express any preference compared to other customers you were always assigned a double room. The toilet and all the components are standard without any modification I don't see the concern in consumption or not on the part of a guest if not in having a worthy stay in the assigned accommodation. In the accommodation you will find hand and face cleaner on the sink, while in the shower the special dispensers for shampoo and bathroom shower. The wifi is appreciated by all the guests so we don't see where he found it difficult when during the stay he didn't complain about anything. For work derived from third parties and not from the structure we can't do anything about it, much less prevent good and honest work for people.

Verified reviewStayed for two nights. The staff were friendly and the hotel is well located, closed to the train station and amenities. The staff could speak in English and French. Very good value for money.
Thank you so much for appreciating the structure and the location. Thank you for appreciating the friendliness and availability of the staff, their priority is to satisfy customer requests and make them spend a memorable stay.
