How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.

Verified reviewGreat location, very nice and updated facilities with lots of amenities and equipped kitchen. Very quiet even if on a busy street due to soundproof windows. Also loved access to the roof terrace! The host was very helpful and responsive.

Verified reviewCentral location. Hosts were very helpful. You can leave luggage there and collect later on check out.
Downside of central location is that it was noisy. It would be a plus to have some basic foodstuffs available e.g. tea, milk etc.
Hi Richard, thank you for your review. It appears a bit confusing that you are happy to be in the city center but you would not hear any noise, as if you were in the countryside. We have double glasses but sometimes you can happen to hear someone from the street, even if it is just for pedestrians and there are no clubs and neither restaurants. As for the food and drinks, we are not allowed to leave any. The point of renting the apartment is that you get what you like. Verified reviewThe location is good, right in the city center (3 min to Bastione). It's a shopping street, but noise isolation is good. Nothing special about the appartement, clean. But in comparison to other accommodations doesn't have anything in the kitchen for example. If you are only for few days not that ideal, you need to buy everything.

Dear Yurii, we leave the welcome kit for the guests but for hygienic reasons we cannot leave things like a sponge. What you could do, since it was required on the apartment rules, was not to leave all the dirty dishes as well as the apartment. Since I was in another part of the island for business, I sent you in advance all the info you needed: wifi pswd, list of restaurants, etc. also telling you that I was reachable on WhatsApp anytime since my mother, that checked you in, could speak italian and french. You told me there was no problem since your daughter could speak italian. Thank you for staying with us and we hope that wherever your next stays will be, you will be a little more respectful. Verified reviewvery nice and complete apartment, fully equipped. excellent location. close to shops and bars and restaurants. Before our arrival we already received a message with a lot of useful information. for example about where to park. we have been well received. owner was very nice and gave tips on what to do in the city and where to eat. there was a problem with the air conditioning, but that was quickly fixed. In short, we had a great time in Cagliari. If we go to Cagliari again, we would definitely come back to this apartment.

Verified reviewWe stayed for one night on the way to a seaside vacation. The apartment is located in the centre of Cagliari and allowed us to discover the beautiful city during our short stay. The beds were very comfortable and we felt relaxed the next morning. The check-in and check-out procedure was simple and efficient.

Verified reviewthe apartment was comfortable and the location was very central. Luca was very friendly and informative. some people complained about it being up a steep hill....we did not feel that way- the city is hilly and there are other streets that are much steeper. there is some street noise at night, not much really, but the windows are good and block out it out. we enjoyed the balconies and people watched from above while we enjoyed a drink and snack.
Luca is a fine host and understands the hospitality business. he has taken care of all the comforts needed for a nice stay.
