Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaI liked everything about this property but if I had to make one suggestion it would be to ensure those coming in the dark are aware keypad is located beneath the illuminated residence keypad.

The place is spotlessly clean. The staff are wonderful and helpful. Beds are comfortable and the shower is AMAZING. Lift in the building which is a nice extra. Location is just right for Trastevere. I love this place.

IsraelThe mattress was a bit soft but that's a very personal preference.
This hotel is situated in a small residential building right next to ponte Garibaldi, a very comfortable location to explore both the centro storico and Trastevere. The showers feel new and clean, and the bed large.

PortugalOur top shower head didn't had much pressure and it also hasn't very hot, it just needs a little maintenance.
Almost all the staff members we encountered were very nice overall. Very responsive, and though full. We didn't get their names but we're sure they will help you during your stay if necessary. The room was comfortable, the bed and pillows. The room gets a little hot in the evening but the air condition funcions very well if you can handle the low noise it makes. The location is good, but we found it to be a little further from the center than we thought, but still nice.

United KingdomMy only top tip for improvement would be slightly more light in bathroom (bit darl, as if designed by a man!) and a mirror (ideally full length) with more light for make up. But otherwise all facilities were spot on, hairdryer by plug by mirror etc!
So close to the bars and restaurants of Trastevere perfect location. Although not always open, reception staff are helpful. Nicola in particular was the heaven sent! So helpful, smiley and just a joy to deal with he helped me with directions back to airport and how to buy tickets. Nothing was too much trouble for him. Coffee machine was fab in the room, nice snacks and water all provided (even a fridge) It was really quiet at night.

United StatesCons: The room freshener smell is overpowering, especially in the reception area – please reduce its use here. The two chairs in each room are too low to use the shelf mounted on the wall (where they had the coffee/tea service, which we moved and used the shelf for our laptop computer). Management did bring “regular” chairs to each room after we requested them. Both beds and the pillows were hard. The lighting is good over the bed, but terrible over the shelf. During our second stay, they kindly placed a modern, LED, floor lamp over the shelf. There were no folding luggage racks in the rooms – until we asked during our second stay, and they brought two to our room (they should be in each room when guests arrive). There were no drawers in which to put clothes. The built-in closet’s clothing bar is quite high off the ground – my wife could not reach it to hang up clothes. Also, the two “hooks” in the bathroom were high on the wall (my wife could not reach the higher one). There were no instructions on how to use the coffee maker or TV (and no list of channels as well). Although the shower was large, the lighting was very dim (colored LED strips), the floor was slippery (we put a small towel down when taking showers), and there were no safety bars to hold on to.
Pros: My wife and I stayed at JB Relais Luxury for one week in January 2025 (Room 304) and again for another week in February 2025 (Room 303) – the two largest rooms here. This lodging has an excellent location – close to bus/tram stops, the staff tries very hard to please their clientele, the rooms are very clean, virtually no street noise, with high ceilings, each had a huge shower, and free water bottles and coffee pods for the Nespresso machine were most welcome. Having a great espresso bar (Bar del Cappuccino – serving cappuccinos, pastries, sandwiches, etc.) and a Tigre grocery store nearby were big plusses also. The staff at JB Relais made every effort to make our stay as comfortable as possible!

IsraelEverything was good
The room was very big and comfortable. Location was great near the Ghetto, easy instructions to enter with codes to the building and elevator to the 3rd floor. We arrived late night so room keys waited for us in the small Lobby. It is about 20 min walk from Colosseum, 10 min from Pantheon, buses to Vatican and termini just below.
