Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Saudi ArabiaBathroom facilities need to be improved. Shower head was not clean.
Sergio and his friend were super helpful and explained us well how we could get around in the city. 10/10 for the location. Just two streets away from train station and the shuttle service to airports. Public transportation also available until late in the night. Shopping areas nearby. Just 15 minutes walk from Colosseum. Halal food and ice cream available just around the corner. Quite a few options for groceries as well.

CanadaThe area is very sketchy, but convenient. The host was there to receive us and show us around, but it was an odd experience, he rushed through everything and was only concerned about collecting the city tax, be aware that it's not included in the reservation. It was more impersonal than checking in a hotel. The beds are not the most comfortable, rather hard and I ended up with a back ache, but maybe that was me, maybe you like hard beds and it won't be a problem.
It was clean, very basic accommodations. The building is rather safe, just be warned that it is an apartment with 3 rental rooms, and two of those share a bathroom. We paid for the room with a private bathroom, and it was the best choice. There was a common space with a coffee machine and some cutlery and plates. We booked this as a relatively last-minute trip, and I'd wish there had been hotels available, but this will work in a pinch, as long as you know this is a budget stay. We went during the off-season, but I'd imagine it would get very rowdy during the high season. It's a 2 minute walk from Termini, which is very convenient.

United StatesWe shared a bathroom with two other rooms. I probably should have paid more attention when making the reservation. One of the rooms being rented on our floor had a sloppy guest who got water everywhere. This stopped me from giving a higher score as i didn’t feel comfortable showering on the last day. Once again, if you’re on a budget, our room was clean and we enjoyed it.
If you’re traveling on a budget, the Room is clean and the Location is good.

United StatesHost Sergio was very accommodating and responsive. This building is in a very convenient location, just 5 minute walk from Termini Station for all transportation needs to anywhere in the Rome. The facility is gated with a key access and very secure. Elevators available for upper floors. Private bath and a shared kitchen. A great value for the area.

UgandaThe small Old-type elevator (typical of ancient Rome) could sometimes fail to move, if the previous user forgot to lock it properly.
I enjoyed the centrality of this place to the Historical city of Rome, you can walk, take a bus or train to visit anywhere in Rome. Its proximity to Termini Station is a big plus. The Manager was such a kind person, while other neighbouring hotels charge for keeping your luggage, he was generous and kept our luggage when we travelled to other parts of the country, and came back to take our plane.

GermanyThe building is old and apparently it was an apartment before and then converted into a hotel room. So the toilet for our room was actually not in our room and we had to cross a hall to get to our toilet even though it is not a public toilet like in hostels.
Location really good. We walked to everywhere in the city and even if you don't like to walk for a meal, there are good restaurants nearby. Personel is helpful and kind. The room was pretty clean. Price was okay for high season.

United StatesSince it is considered a hostal, we didn't expect daily room service. We were not even notified about the maid coming in every day to clean; we didn't like that. As far as it is a good thing, and they're entitled to check on the room as they needed, it feels like a violation of one's privacy. We would have liked to be notified beforehand. The elevator is very old and hectic. You have to open the main door to your side and then push the two doors to the inside to get in, same to get out, pull the two doors to the inside, and push the main door to the outside while still holding the other two doors to the sides; it's very tiny.
It's a really nice building, 4 secured doors to get to our room: gate, building, entire apartment, room. The location is really good, depending on your needs. It's a block from the Roma Termini station, and there are several stores and restaurants nearby. We're walkers, so for us, everything was walking distance lol we walked to the Trevi, Spanish steps, Pantheon, forum, etc. The pizzeria next to "Acqua & Farina" is really good and affordable, and they close late.

United StatesThe bed was very uncomfortable and we only got one small hard pillow each. When I asked if they had any other pillows, they gave us two more small hard pillows. We did not sleep well. In general, you can also very much hear the people who are staying next to you so it feels very close together. I would not say that breakfast is included. There was basic coffee and tea, and that is it.
The location was great, super easy to get there when coming in by train (3 minute walk) and when renting a scooter from the local place. The coffee in room and easy walking distance to the coliseum, roman forum, are what made this.

United KingdomBeing in an old building, the lift was a challenge with loads of suitcases. The bed was also slightly hard for my tastes, but its a minor gripe. The City tax having to be paid in cash was also annoying, but to be expected in Rome
The location was excellent, just 2 blocks from the Termini train station and close to the Opera Theater, meaning loads of good restaurants around. Really easy 15 minute walk to the Colosseum and Trevi fountain too. The cafe next door was perfect for a quick lunch to walk off going to the main attractions. Sergio gave us all the info we needed to explore the city and was very accommodating on our final day.
