Everything about our stay here was perfect. The staff suggested off-site garage parking for our rental car, and a shuttle brought us into the sassi. Nicolas was an amazing host; he greeted us, carried our bags to the rooms and was available whenever we needed anything. The rooms were beautiful, spacious, and comfortable. Easy access too, with a keypad & code to enter. Breakfast every morning was freshly prepared and delicious. Great coffee too! Nicoloas was also kind enough to book us reservations for dinner each night. The location couldn't have been better; right off the street and not too many stairs, if accessiblilty is an issue.

With such a great staff you do not really notice anything bad.

Easy check in and check out. Very friendly and accommodative staff. Breakfast selection is simple but had the right selection. Nicely served. Location is at the heart of Matera. Our room was a two floor , very large and comfortable ... Nicolas was very helpful.

This hotel is so beautiful, and in such a beautiful setting, it literally made my mom cry. Cinzia and Nicolas went above and beyond to welcome us and help us navigate our stay (which overlapped with a G7 meeting that interrupted some of the usual workings of Matera) - making restaurant reservations for us, giving us directions through the city, helping coordinate with the parking garage... We were in good hands! The rooms are luxurious, the rooftop terrace is even more beautiful than the pictures, and this hotel is just a magical place in a magical city.

Cinzia and team were very welcoming and helpful. They have a cafe /drinks and art/gallery. The room was very spacious and the accommodation located in the heart of the sassi. Great view from communal terrace too. Made some great recommendations for restaurants and helped arrange restaurant reservations, walking tour and taxis.

L’Artiere Dimore was brimming with character, personality and details that referenced both Matera and the family who lovingly restored the building. Our family suite was simply elegant and spacious. We loved both the private and our shared rooftop terraces.

The room was one of the nicest we’ve ever stayed in, very spacious, comfortable, quiet and with a private balcony with a great view. The location is perfect, with restaurants all around. Breakfast was excellent. We had a great welcome from Cinzia and Nicolas who were friendly and helpful.

The staff went above and beyond. Cinzia and Nicolas were so friendly and so helpful. This location is perfect for 2-3 nights to explore, hike, tour and to see the city. PRO TIP: The Hotel will tell you where the closest parking is (And the most reasonable). From there USE the DRIVING directions to walk to the Hotel in order to avoid stairs with luggage. I heartily recommend the Hotel, the breakfast and the lovely staff!

I travelled with two cats🐈‍⬛ and my mom and had one night in Matera on our drive. We chose this place and couldn't be more thrilled! The hosts were amazing, we got a room upgrade, our pets felt so welcome there. The location is perfect, Cinzia gave us clear instructions as to the parking and directions to the place. We also wanted to try a local sweet from Puglia pasticchotti, which we didn't get a chance on our way, so having told about it to Cinzia, we were amazed for their extra effort to get this treat for our breakfast the next morning 🥰💖 and got another great recommendation for tette Della monacche 😍. The room was also big and comfortable, spotless, shower even though tiny, but works perfectly, unlike other places on our trip. Loved the bed and pillows, got really good sleep. And the whole experience with the location and the old town, ambience of the place and the hospitality made this stay truly one of a kind! Would dream to come back again and highly recommend to anyone 💖✨️
