How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe facility and host were wonderful. We were misled by the advertised distance from the location to Fiumicino Airport. It is very close if you could travel in a straight line, but really 6 to 9 kilometers away via the roads. It was confusing and took a lot of time for an inexperienced driver. They should be truthful that the location is not steps away from the airport.

Verified reviewClaudio was fantastic. The 1 bedroom cottage was outstanding. Parking was free and next to the cottage. Less than 10 minutes to the beach. Really enjoyed our 2 day stay.
There was no stove but it does have a microwave.

Verified reviewBreakfast was all kept on kitchen counter. Everything was easy find in kitchen. Host actually gave us a ride to restaurant for a dinner. Which was very nice of him as we were completely new to the area and would have been difficult to find a good restaurant in the evening.

Verified reviewThe property was located close to the airport and the host was lovely! There was plenty of space for the three of us and a kitchen and fridge we would have put to use if we stayed longer. When my sisters and I arrived, it was quiet late and we hadn’t yet had dinner so Claudio called some pizza places for us to ask if they provided gluten free options, unfortunately they did not so he drove us to McDonalds as it was the only place open to ensure we still had something to eat for dinner. He also provided the option for a transfer service to the airport the next day with good tunes on the drive :)

Verified reviewThe beds and patio, with their outdoor pet turtle, were wonderful! Packaged biscuits and cake were available for use, if someone likes that.
Although the unit was very pretty and had a kitchenette, there was no stovetop, and we were told the oven did not work and we were not to use, there were only paper plates and cups. They did have pretty tea cups, though. We could not get the coffee machine to work. For such a cute place, it’s very sad that the kitchenette was not set up to be utilized. The taxi from the airport to the hotel, a 10 minute ride, was 55 Euro. The only option we were provided for food was a crumpled pizza delivery flyer. Access to a grocery store is about a mile away.
We are truly shocked by your review. You were clearly informed before booking that this is a guesthouse, not a full apartment for cooking. Complaining about the lack of a stovetop after being told in advance is simply unfair. You stayed only a few hours, left the place extremely dirty, and we had to clean up numerous empty alcohol bottles. also, you 've been informed that literally 1 km away from the property, you could find the centre of Fiumicino with all bars and restaurants. You also chose a 55€ taxi when our 20€ shuttle was available—then blamed that it is too expensive. This review does not reflect reality but rather frustration because you couldn’t use the kitchen. The bad experience was ours, not yours. We invite anyone reading this to check our many positive reviews—those show who we really are and how much we care. this is a family business and it is really sad a behaviour like yours. No basic education. You will never come back here again

Verified reviewWe arrived very late on a delayed flight. It was easy to find the key to get in. The beds were super comfy. We all have crazy dreams. It was quiet and the place was beautifully decorated. The breakfast was good. The host was super friendly.
Maybe some more fruit for breakfast would be nice.

Verified reviewVery clean and homey. The bed was extremely comfortable with great pillows. They had a few snacks and teas/coffees for us which was very nice. The shower pressure was perfect. Mr.Claudio was so helpful taking us to the airport and to two separate terminals, also at 5 am. We were very grateful for him. Taxis are extremely expensive and to have him take us to the airport was very very helpful! This was probably my favorite place I stayed in my 3 weeks in Europe
