Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesBeds and pillows weren't very comfortable.
Great location, wonderful staff. Hotel is about a 10-12 minute walk from the main dock and center of Positano, tucked away in a quieter area and about 100 stairs up from the shore. Fresh beach towels every day, fridge in the room, and plenty of mirrors (which gave us girls more space to get ready). Room was quite spacious and the view was beautiful!

FranceYes, Positano means stairs, but here it’s only about 80 steps with breaks along the way, honestly, in Positano terms, that’s like having your feet right in the sea.
The rooms are absolutely beautiful, spacious, beautifully maintained, and tastefully decorated in a retro style. They feel both comfortable and unique, with everything you need. The view is truly the best in Positano : by day and by night. If you want to disconnect while still being in the most touristic area of the Amalfi Coast, this is the place. You have the perfect balance: total relaxation at home, with the crowd, restaurants, and activities just steps away. The beach nearby is quiet and peaceful, without the usual Positano crowds. The host, Maryse, made the whole stay unforgettable. She’s a French writer, full of generosity, laughter, and useful information that really enriches the experience. You don’t just get a place to stay, you get a connection that makes Positano feel like home. This was truly the best part of my holidays. I can’t recommend La Dolce Vita enough. Till next year!

United StatesThe WiFi was slow
We loved the hotel and the fantastic views right out over the water. We will absolutely stay again the next time we visit. The hotel was only a short walk from town and the ferries, and luckily not too many stairs compared to much of the rest of the town.

United KingdomIf you have more than one bag, you really need to plan a porter to get to/from the hotel. Maryse can help you arrange it
Maryse, the owner, is from Paris and actually a writer, and she is very nice and chatty. This provided a welcoming atmosphere from the start. The room is of decent size, with high ceilings, and with direct view to the sea. The little terrace invites for pondering after sunset over a glass of wine. Its a few steps to the beach, and a 10min walk to the hustle and bustle of the main beach and its shops - its quite relaxing to come back after a day out. I didn't turn on the AC as I let the air breeze through the bathroom window to the doors to the terrace wifi and 5G are both strong, I had no problem working from here

Great position in Positano, only 95 steps up from beach ! The terrace outside the rooms was very charming with natural shade and a perfect view. Sleeping with the doors open to the sound of the sea was great. Easy access (10 min walk) from ferry dock. Maryse the owner was lovely and very helpful in every way.

United StatesLa Dolce Vita is down 370 steps from the main street where the parking lots are. I would highly recommend making sure you arrange with Maryse (the wonderful proprietor) for a porter to bring your bags down. We used the porter to bring our bags up when we left. Well worth it
The room was beautiful… very spacious with a beautiful view of the sea and Positano. The beach is right there down about 100 steps. It was very clean and the person in charge of housekeeping was wonderful. It is also away from the main tourist area so it is quiet.

Great location, the accommodation was easy to access from the Positano port. Beautiful rooms and accomodating staff. We got upgraded to a room with a balcony, breathtaking views, comfortable bed and facilities. They have beach towels and umbrellas available. We were able to leave our luggage early to enjoy the Fornillo Beach prior to check-in which was much appreciated.
