The hotel was amazing, an ancient heritage building. I felt very safe because the doors are locked with a card to get through. The size of the room exceeded expectations. The room was cleaned every day and toiletries were replenished. I had a small problem in the bathroom which the staff fixed while I was enjoying the city of Florence. Good breakfast, plus that they optionally provide quality coffee not from a machine. You can have breakfast on the beautiful terrace overlooking the Pitti Palace. The location is perfect especially for solo travellers, everything is close at hand.

Our room we were offered initially was quite bland and source bare grey walls and plain white furnishings, requested a move and got a lovely room on ground floor.

We are vegan and gluten intolerant and it was disappointing that the chef(s) in the hotel restaurant were not prepared to steer away from their menu even to prepare for us a simple pasta with tomato sauce! (Even with a few days’ notice). Thankfully the hotel was surrounded with a number of vegan and gluten free cafes, patisseries and restaurants.

I had an injury and was wheelchair bound, and we were placed in a perfect room with easy access to the entrance. We found the staff on reception extremely helpful and kind. Thank you ❤️

The reception staff were friendly and welcoming and very helpful with information for parking and facilities. The hotel was right in the centre of Florence so had easy access to the main attractions and museums. The building was lovely and fitted in beautifully with the surrounding old city. The breakfast patio overlooking the gardens was really nice in the morning and the breakfast was also good.

Nothing! We loved everything about the hotel! If I were to make only one very small comment - it would be that we found the roof top bar staff a little young & inexperienced! It didn’t really affect our enjoyment however! We loved our stay in every way!

The location was excellent! We seemed to be central to absolutely everything & no where was far by foot! Our room was opposite a quiet courtyard & we slept really well! The room was comfortable & spacious. This was one of the main reasons we chose to book this hotel as many other hotels had reviews saying people couldn’t sleep due to local noise. I can assure you we did not hear a thing & slept soundly at Hotel La Scaletta, it was a welcome escape from our energetic lively days! 😆 The views from the roof top were also breathtakingly beautiful. We didn’t book dinner in advance & so they were fully booked unfortunately. We were able to have drinks earlier on the balcony & roof top however, so at least we could get to see & enjoy the views.

Only small things but considering it's now 4 stars worth mentioning. No hanging space for anything long, no drawers of any kind, just shelves, teeny table beside bed not a proper bedside table. Great to have a kettle but only 1 coffee, 1 milk, 1 teabag each which seemed unbelievably mean! Small bottles of water provided first day but never again. It's so lovely in every other respect- just seems a bit cheapskate

Beautiful old building - we had a ground floor room that opened on to a lovely courtyard garden. Unbelievably quiet considering the location. Lovely staff, great location

We just wish we could have stayed longer! The building is stairs-dependent and a little maze-like, which was fine for us and kind of entertaining. May not be for everyone, access-wise, but we loved it.

Every staff member greeted and treated us pleasantly, professionally, warmly, and helpfully. The roofdeck is simply spectacular. The sumptuous breakfast buffet up there was an easy choice throughout our stay, and we decompressed from travel with a cocktail and sunset views the afternoon we arrived. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the location is central and handy to all our destinations. My daughter loved gazing out those tall windows in our room.
