Sadly, the gorgeous property would not be the comfortable haven that we had hoped. Traveling with a friend and my spouse, we 3 adults were directed to a adequately sized room and bath. Then we discovered that the busy intersection noise and the heat drifting in the one window would be our constant companions as we tried to rest that night. When we could not locate the air conditioner remote (the main reason for choosing this property was AC), the manager replied in a text that it was not hot enough to give us the remote. Our room overlooked the busy traffic and pedestrian corner. Not only would the AC have allowed us to be comfortably cool but also to have closed the window and shut out the noise. What a shame for such a lovely property to be spoiled by a bad business decision to withhold the AC even when promised.

We like the lovely common areas and the proximity to the town.

The water in the coffee machine didn't look fresh, the water tank needed cleaning. I didn't use it (but I took the nespresso capsules with me and the coffee was great). The description of the room (Deluxe Junior Suite) was "This air-conditioned suite includes 1 living room, 1 separate bedroom and 1 bathroom with a walk-in shower. Boasting a terrace with garden views, this suite also offers a minibar and a flat-screen TV with cable channels. The unit has 1 bed." but there was only one room. Actually the door next to the bathroom door (as shown in the room pictures) was locked and there was a curtain in front of it. The room was still spacious and lovely but different from the description. Also, there was no terrace (maybe it was next to the locked room). Anyway, I could do with the room if there wasn't the next problem: This corner suite is located on a crossroad (via Elisa & via del Fosso which is somethinhg like a canal). Just outside the building, a large group of young people decided to enjoy their evening by drinking, talking and laughing really loud up until 2+ am. So, we couldn't sleep until late, it was really annoying. We stayed only for one night so I don't know if we were just unlucky or if it is a casual local meeting point but I had to mention it.

The location is great. Inside the old town but close to the walls and the free parking. Room was spacious, nicely decorated and clean, bed was nice as well. The room was a corner one, so it had windows to 2 roads. There was a coffee machine and capsules

Friendly host made arriving and check in easy. He also had good travel recommendations and showed us a map of the area with highlights to see on our short stay. Free parking a short walk away was great. Comfortable room.

There were small details that made me rate this a good not excellent stay. Stains on the washcloths - but there were washcloths as well as extra hand towels (always appreciated). We were asked to check out at 10, when the listing says 10:30. Breakfast is listed as optional - but is not offered as an option. Again, no deal breakers - the property itself is clean and comfortable. While short on ambience, our classic triple room was great for an overnight where you spend most of your time sleeping or out on the town anyway.

The classic triple room was a good resting spot for one evening. Beds were comfortable, location was central and the noise levels were low. It's a basic room without frills, clean and the floor offers a central sitting room and terrace, which we didn't use due to rain. Communication was decent and the host greeted us on arrival. It's a good place to store your things while exploring all the town has to offer. Not a place where you'll want to linger in the room. Price was right for the room.

Access to then terrace would’ve been lovely.

Lovely BnB style hotel in Lucca. Everything was great and staff were lovely. Sadly the terrace was locked and don’t think there was a key. Also the room was an interconnecting one and of course it was locked but meant I could hear the people next door and they could hear me.

Piero was very kind and allowed us to leave our luggage in the morning. The location could not be better and were given a map with main sites highlighted. The room and bathroom were super clean. The shower was great and the large bed really comfortable. We got a little warm in the night and could not find a remote control for the airconditioning. I also did not know where the terrace was located. No big deal as we were out all day and all evening. There were some Englush language chanels available on the t.v.We absolutely loved our stay and would definitely stay here again . Thanks so much for an easy pleasant experience

Our room was supposed to have a fridge and we were told it had broken and not been replaced. The TV remote batteries were dead and since there is no onsite staff we couldn’t get replacements.

I really liked the location. La Terrazza was very clean and nicely appointed. And the terrazza was lovely; we enjoyed a nightcap and a lovely chat one evening. The ambiance makes you feel as if you are in your own villa.

Nice view of the entrance to the old city. No soap bar provided. I had to clean out the kettle because there were black bits of tea? in there and it was a bit gross. The cleaning person obviously did not check the kettle. Also, I inquired about paying for the optional breakfast, but never received a response. Email communication could have been better. Piero is a friendly guy, but did not respond to my texts, however, he answered my phone calls. I was looking forward to enjoying coffee on the terrace, but it was locked. Considering the fact that the terrace is in the name of the listing, it was very disappointing that I could not access the terrace. I arrived late (11pm) and Piero was there to accommodate though. The towels were janky.

Great location, paid parking is very close and free parking is not too far away. Liquor store right next-door and restaurants within a one minute walk.

Due to the central location, we did experience a bit of street noise.

Central location. This property is not a hotel and should be considered more as an airbnb so don’t expect the amenities of a hotel (the price reflects this!) We contacted the owner prior to arriving and we were able to check in early at 11:30 when we arrived. He then advised where we could park our car for free and gave us a map to find the parking (he said it was safe). It was about a 12 minute walk from the accommodation. You can literally only dropped your bags at the hotel and are not able to park for more than 5 minutes so be aware if this! It’s clean and our family room/s was very spacious. Great value for money and would recommend!

The shower unfortunately had very difficult doors to close. But this is a small point that didn't prevent us from enjoying the place.

We got a room for 3 people but it was, in fact, two large rooms connected and 1 badroom. The rooms were very stylish and clean. Good beds. The view of the gate added to the atmosphere. The house has a great living room with cozy places to sit. The rooms had coffee makers with excellent coffee. Well situated. Highly recommended.

Inside the building was very cold because of the humidity and not so much because of the real cold .We asked the control of the air condition but they said it was only for the summer .So there was not heating in the structure.We could pay more the price of the room having warm. We rent a studio of 2 bedrooms .But to go to the bathroom you should pass through the bedroom of the others .So it was very very uncomfortable.

Loved that it was right by the town wall and very comfortable. 2 bedrooms, for two couples - needed to walk through one bedroom to get to the bathroom, but was really no problem. The open area with dining and living room was old world beautiful. Really enjoyed our stay here and loved Lucca. Don’t miss riding the wall on a bicycle!

The layout was not clear from the description of the property. If you are in the second bedroom then access to the bathroom is through the first bedroom, which might not suit everyone. Also there were not enough glasses or cups provided for four people.
