Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

I highly recommend this property. This is a truly wonderful place. The rooms are immaculate, beautifully maintained, and very comfortable. One of the property’s greatest highlights is the stunning terrace available to guests – the views from there are absolutely breathtaking. Choosing the breakfast option was an excellent decision. The coffee is outstanding, and the fresh pastries are delicious. The owner is exceptionally kind and welcoming. On our first day, he shared detailed information about the city and pointed out the best places to visit, which made our stay even more enjoyable. I wholeheartedly recommend this property for a holiday in Palermo. It’s a delightful place, and I will certainly return.

The room was comfortable and had everything I needed. The communal areas and kitchen were well maintained and fully equipped. The building is beautifully restored, and the location is quiet but still within easy reach of the center. A very pleasant stay overall.

We loved everything. The only downside was the lack of a long mirror. Ladies like to see how they look before they go out!
The breakfast was fine. Location is a little way from historic center, but we knew that when we booked.

There was not much that we disliked. There was no tea and coffee in our room, which would have been a nice touch. The room lacked a long mirror. Also a couple of comfortable chairs would be a nice addition.
The room was lovely, spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The shared terrace was really nice and it was good to watch the world go by, as we did one evening. Our host Alessandro was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

We had a warm welcome from the owner who has been always very kind and helpful for any questions/demands during our stay. The staff was great and the room clean and very comfortable. The location is quite strategic to move around town and in/out from the main airport and Palermo’ surroundings.

Location was about a mile from historic center. Worked fine for us but others may think it’s farther than they would like. The rooms and everything were great.

Location was inconvenient for reaching city center. We walked everywhere because other transportation was not readily available. It was noisy outside the room at night. No CC lean towels were offered for entire 3 night stay. Garbage was not emptied. We never met the host and we were not told there was an elevator or how to turn on the lights, etc. Wifi was very spotty and unreliable. K
We never ate breakfast there because we left early each morning. We did get good communication through text. The neighborhood was dirty.

You need to read up on the public transport system or be prepared to walk 20 minutes to get to the centre of town. This wasn’t an issue for me as I’m young, but older people should be aware.
Amazing stay. The place is like a hybrid of a B&B and a hotel. The facilities were great. The owner Alessandro was a delight and gave me plenty of recommendations. He also told me where to buy a pistachio cornetto and asked his friends shop to put one aside for me.
