    Good shower.

No prior information. I had to send them several messages (finally translated to Italian) before I got any answer. No ac in the room, only a window. In the middle of summer it will be hot as hell...

Had 4 routers and none of them didn’t work(no wi-fi) The duvet and sheets were not clean. There was only one chair, but we booked a room for two people. When you flush the toilet, a big noise was made. Main door was not closed with a key from anyone, so we were not safe. Beware that the balcony was shared with the other room, because it was not mentioned anywhere in the booking. Mattresses were so bad, it seemed like we were sleeping on rocks, and they were very noisy.

Good view towards the old town and the sassi.

The address was a different number on the same street. The cleanliness was doubtful. There was a problem with the WiFi.

    Nice host and great location

AC doesn't work and the room was at 30° the whole night. WiFi is a mobile router that didn't work one second. The shower didn't drain all the water. We had to ask for bed sheets.

If you want the worst accommodation experience of your life you better stay here!! I don't know where to begin, I'm shocked with what I had experienced. The host didn't communicate with me probably at all prior to me checking in and left me sitting out in the heat on the side of the road (mind you at the wrong address too), waiting for ages at an agreed check in time. He rocked up unapologetically and with a terrible attitude shoved me towels from the back of his car, which weren't very clean. I followed him up three set of stairs and instead of accommodating me and hosting me he went to grab linen from a storage unit. He then at last showed me into the room, asked for my city tax, and I had to ask for the keys, which turned out were back downstairs, so I had to follow him all the way back down again for him to throw me the keys and run out the door. I stopped him quickly before he left to ask where I can find the wifi password and very abruptly he responded "It's in the room", and he left.

I went back to the room, realising that it was very run down; unattended to and left in an awful state - dirty, broken pieces to things lying around the room. The door to my balcony was broken as when I tried to open it it started falling off from the top, so I luckily was able to push it back in and locked it. I found out that my balcony was shared with the person next to me and that you can only shut the blinds from the outside, which I couldn't do as it was broken. As a solo traveller I felt very unsafe as the man nextdoor to me could sit outside my room and watch me sleep. I had to hang a sheet over the window to get some privacy. To top it all off the wifi was infact not working and when I enquired about this, his response was "It looks like it is defintiely turned off, I'll let the other guests know where to allocate it". After doing some research others have also had issues with the wifi not working so it's evident that he false advertises his apartment complex having working wifi, yet it is always turned off!!! I then recieved a beautiful message from him getting upset at me for locking the door outside. It would have been nice if he would have checked me in properly and shown me how to use the keys/ what to lock and what not to lock. Terrible hosting on his behalf. I absolutely adored Matera, so it's a real shame my accommodation experience was THAT dreadful. I shall be back to beautiful Matera but never staying there again!!!
