Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIf you are a light sleeper the noise at night may keep you awake. I slept through but my friend was kept awake. Also if you get a taxi from the airport be prepared to walk up steep slopes from where they park to the accommodation.
Very traditional accommodation with everything you need, good location and close to city centre.

AustraliaCould have done with a TV but not absolutely necessary. Bit noisy at night but the double glazing kept most of it out.
Location near all the main squares of Perugia was perfect. It had all the facilities that made for a self-catering holiday in one of Italy's iconic cities. The kitchen was humble but had all you needed. Bedroom spacious and bed comfortable, bathroom a bit cramped but adequate. Our main point of contact (Maha) did all she could to ensure our stay had few if any problems, and helped us a lot. The location near the IV Novembre square and Palazzo Giacomo Matteotti and the escalators at Piazza Italia was special. We were able to get around on foot all the time and one day had a bus trip to Gubbio - very easy to do. All in all a good spot to stay for a few days amongst an eclectic mix of people (proffesionals, university students , artists and musicians ) and observe the locals living life.

MaltaThere is no lift but the stairs are wide and easy to climb.
The property is located right at the centre of the historical part of Perugia and easily accessible. The owner is friendly and helpful. I had a private bathroom and access to a well-equipped kitchen and dining room. My bedroom was very spacious and nicely furnished. The property is also close to restaurants and shops and to public transport.

United StatesThis is a big one for me: while I understand the dreaded “muffa” (mold/mildew) can be hard to avoid entirely in older buildings, this was not okay. If it had been a longer stay (2 nights) I’d likely have asked for a solution. The shower badly needs a deep clean - it’s just unacceptable even at a lower price point. The heat wasn’t working, which I only learned by asking. A portable heater was brought the next day which worked well. It should have been there at the start though - being November the nights are quite crisp and I spent the first night bundled up in order to sleep. I was the only one there but it’s sort of a shared apartment set up. Fine except my door at least required a good bit of force (and thus noise) to open or lock, which could be quite bothersome to others.
Good location. Bed comfortable if a bit soft. Well equipped kitchen though I didn’t use it during my short stay. Quick communication from the host.

FranceLa Casa De Cassandra is in the old Town Perugia, not completely at the top of the hill but almost ... There is a COOP grocery store, bakeries, bars and restaurants nearby. The flat has a well equipped kitchen and a shared dining room. Each room has a private bathroom with a key. The flat is on the 2nd floor but after walking up and downhill all day it won't be that different. The street can be noisy on the week-end but once the windows were closed, it was all fine for me. Spacious room and comfy bed. Not so much external light as the main window is on a narrow street. Claudia is a welcoming host and will do her upmost to let you have an enjoyable stay. Loved the italian coffe machine If I'll come back to Perugia - definetly check for it !

United KingdomUnfortunately there was no air con, just a fan. It was over 30 degrees in the room all night so we got very little sleep. It was noisy when the windows were open. The bathroom was very poor. Shower was in a bad way. In need of a refurbishment! The bedroom could be better designed by having an extra bed and /or other facilities such as a small TV etc.
Lovely customer service /communication from host. Really helpful instructions and quick response. Helpful to have use of a kitchen and washing machine. Great central location to city-walkable to main attractions within 5 minutes.

United StatesI would have liked to have my window open at night but I always had to shut it due to noise. There is a restaurant around the corner and I think a lot of the noise came from the patrons of this restaurant.
It had a shared kitchen and private bathrooms. The bedroom was comfortable with plenty of room. The host (Claudia) was very helpful and allowed me to drop my bags before check-in and store them there after check- out for a couple of hours. This was very much appreciated. She also was helpful as I struggled with the keys the first day.

Apartman was near city center, like 7min from P. IV Novembra. It was really cozy and we have our own bathroom on key. Even if there was a issue with warm water the 1st night, I sent message to Claudia and it was taken care of in next 30min. There is private room and shared kitchen and eating Room (big one). Our room was a blue one and we fell in love with it, special the rocking chair. By walk like 2min you have small mercato for snack and drinks. Claudia was always available and She sent also email with instruction how to travel from airport to city Perugia and to her apartman.
