How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

I stayed at this accommodation for two nights with my pregnant wife, and it was by far the worst experience we've ever had. The bed was incredibly noisy with every movement, making it impossible to get any rest actually the bed was broken. The room itself was not clean—dirty coffee cups, a coffee machine with a used capsule still inside, and water that smelled rotten. My wife ended up getting sick because of the unsanitary conditions. We couldn’t sleep at all during our stay, and the lack of cleanliness and basic maintenance was missing.

Verified reviewWe stayed at this hotel as a family and were absolutely delighted. Everything was excellent — the cleanliness, the bathroom quality, the comfort of the rooms, and above all, the service, which was impeccable from start to finish. Communication with the staff was smooth and pleasant, which made our stay even more enjoyable. To this day, it’s the best hotel we’ve stayed at in Italy. Staircase (very difficult with luggage), no living space, need to at least have a sitting area for people from 2 rooms to socialise in, no help when in need, far from station (15 min walk in the hot sun), very difficult to get taxi from the area.

Verified reviewThe building and the rooms were modern and clean. The place looks even better than the photos and it was in a nice neighborhood outside the city center. It is a 10-15 min walk to the station. Its a great value for money and I would definitely recommend.

Good location, 15 mins from the train station with a little hill at the end (there is a bus that can cut on the walking time). One of the best value hotel for cinque Terre!

Verified reviewThe room was very nice, comfortable bed, a table and chairs and a coffee/tea maker, plus a minibar one could use as a fridge. Uncomplicated check in (though I was a bit confused about how to find it at first - google maps tells you to enter the building from below, but the entrance is on the other side of the building!) and good communication with the host via text, also helped me out with figuring out bus tickets!
One can hear people talking in the other rooms and in the hallway, which can be annoying in the evening/morning - it could be a good idea to establish "quiet hours" (like 11 pm - 8 am?) since it can disturb sleep a bit! People were talking both close to midnight and at 7:30 in the morning. The location is quite a walk from the city center and uphill all the way (though the name "sui colli" made that clear :) ), though there is also a bus that goes to very close to there. Be aware that you have to tell the bus driver you want to get off at that station, pushing the button is not enough! Would be a bonus to have a way to heat food, like a microwave!

Verified reviewBeautifully decorated and extremely clean. Quiet location. Beautiful views from the balcony. We book a room for four and it was very spacious with separate rooms for the kids. 10m walk to the train station. Free parking nearby. I highly recommend this place.

Verified reviewHad all the basic necessities. Host was very friendly and prompt response with text messages. Easy to follow instructions on entering the building.
There’s free parking outside the premises, but quickly taken up which means parking further down the street. But not a big problem as there’s plenty of spaces. Mind you, went in December. Not sure what it’s like in peak summer!!
