How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

There was nothing not to like.
It was good that we have the facilities to make breakfast and there is plenty of shops all around us too.

The communication with the landlord was very hard. She didn't speak English and didn't even try to use Google translate to understand each other. Her attitude towards us was kind of aggressive when we didn't understand her at once. We were also kicked out from the rooms at 10 when they put signs that check-out time was 11 everywhere in the accommodation.

Bed was uncomfortable and laundry was done outside the room window. When we first arrived we were placed in the wrong room by staff. Once we had fully unpacked and were about to leave another guest used a key to enter the room. We we concerned that multiple people had keys to the same room. The staff then moved us to the correct room but never apologized and tried to place blame on us.
Room was clean and location was nice, removed but able to walk to main attractions.

small bathroom.
Big room, but small bathroom. good location, close to metro station.the owner/cleaning lady( I dont know which one) couldn't talk English, but she was so nice for allowing us to store our luggage before checking in, but we do not have enough time to gk there first to store our luggage. But we appreciate her nice gesture.

It would be great to have a jug to boil water so you can make a cup of tea of coffee. Some places we have stayed at have a shared jug but still accessible otherwise perfect

It's not a dislike but rather challenging Communicating with the owner as she doesn't speake english and we didn't know Italian or any of her language. Nooisy outside the door. The other boarders were making sounds till very late night. Like closing the door loud andsdoing something in the kitchen or speakingijust outside the room door.
The room was nice and clean. Bed was comfy. Ample lights ( Special tri sytem lights. One click blue, second is white) Location was good and very much accicable by bus and metro. Bathroom was nice and clean.

Noisy neighbours. Guests ringing the bell at 1:00am then talking with their friends in the room for an hour. Very disturbing.

Lady doesn’t speak English, however it was not problem , she replies very fast, using translation.
Good location, close to Termini, many shops around, u can reach centr by walk. Comfortable beds, clean room, view is on the street but very nice. Bathroom is outside but it was clean.

Even tho host was great she doesn’t speak English and that is the reason why it is not 10/10.
Great location in as it seems local part of Rome. You can walk to many attractions. Great value for money definitely! Host was great.

She was very helpful. We arrived early and when we called her, she came within 10 minutes. She kept our luggage in a safe place until we picked it up both at check in and checkout. Central location, one can take breakfast just across the road and a very good restaurant next door.

The location was really good, we could walk to colosseum, we had a metro station 2 min away. The room was clean and the toilet got cleaned every day by the staff. The elevator was only a bit small for three people.

Communication was pretty bad.. The owners didn't even try to speak in English. The place was clean on top but not totally (moldy bathroom, sticky floor)..
The location was great we didn't even have to use public transport. The room had a nice balcony!
