Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaI'm very blessed to travel constantly, and very rarely do I leave negative feedback. But I felt, it was required this time. We had travelled for 4 weeks through Milan, Rome, Hvar and Capri and lucky to be staying in glorious 5star hotels along the way. The price of this hotel exceeded all of these. So we were keen to arrive and see what level of luxury and service awaited. Unfortunately, it simply wasn't there. The Service, fit out, amenities, rooms, mini bar. pool area simply doesn't live up the price paid. We booked a suite that said had a large-double bed and 2 sofa beds - it was a single couch. Had to get an extra rooms for kids! Then there's the add ons.. You can really, only reach the hotel by car so 99% of guests need carparking - $50Euro per night Would you like an orange juice at breakfast ($10 euro extra) Some eggs perhaps? ($15 euro extra). Did you need an extra key for your room - $25euro!! and on and on it goes. Then there's what's missing..... Someone to greet you and help with you with all your bags when you arrive ? Nope A Coffee machine in the room? Nope. A complimentary water perhaps? Nope. Beautiful amenities and nice smelling creams? Nope. A quality stocked mini bar with a range of refreshments? Nope Some luxury treats and snacks to order? Nope. Order some drinks by the pool? - You'll be waiting- as it's the lifeguard who takes the order and then disappears to the bar. It is - as basic - as can be. There is nothing luxurious about this hotel expect the price and the location.
Great location and a 10-15min walk to the Port restaurants and shopping area. Very nice view if you have the "sea-view" room which I highly recommend and makes the Balcony view over the pool and sea very enjoyable. The Pool was a descent size, and kids really enjoyed it. Also the rooftop terrace was really nice for a pre-dinner drink before walking off to dinner.

United StatesJacuzzi wasn’t working. Pool bar was closed Charging fees to open wine. Cover charge to sit on terrace at restaurant was ridiculous. Closing pool umbrellas because it was windy. Somewhat pricey for the quality level.
Location is great. Staff was very nice. Parking was not an issue.

United StatesA few of the staff were off-putting; one seemed to be bothered to have to check us in. Also, for guests arriving for the first time, it wasn’t clear that we were actually at the hotel ( rather than a restaurant).

United States1. The Pool is NOT being cleaned adequately. Way too much dirt and dead bugs abound at bottom of pool and at the surface of the pool. Your automatic skimmer is not adequate by itself!!! The individual cleaning the pool needs to do more manual cleaning and scrubbing, or you need to hire someone more thorough or better trained. 2. The pool glass tables were not cleaned the entire time we were there even though we asked the front desk to get this done.
Some excellent staff: 1. Head Guy; 2. Joanie, front desk; 3. Elizabetha, waitress; 4. Alberto, waiter; 5. Roberta, recent hire, hard worker!

United KingdomThe room was in 2 separate parts but on different levels with 2 stone steps between these 2 parts. There is a significant risk of injury - especially if a visit to the bathroom is required during the night. We recommend that a yellow adhesive strip is added to the edge of these steps. This is only the 2nd hotel (out of many over the years) that did not provide orange juice as a complimentary drink at breakfast. We suggest that charging for orange juice is dropped. Some of the reception staff were very friendly and helpful but not all of them! We suggest that a board is put up in the reception area with local events & trips.
The room was a good size with 2 separate parts together with a bathroom. The view from the room (on the top floor) was excellent - probably one of the best in the hotel. There were lots of drawers and the provision of 10 coat hangars in the wardrobe was most welcome. The breakfast, lunch (on our last day) and dinner (twice) were very good. The swimming pool was very good with a reasonable number of sun beds & parasols.

United KingdomThe bed and pillows were a little hard but not the end of the world!
We had a pleasant stay at this hotel, with welcome drinks and a lovely roof terrace. There was a wide variety of lovely breakfast each morning! You do have to pay for parking at the hotel but we found lots of parking in and around the property for free. The location was great for walking into Porto Cervo, though we knew it was out of season we decided that we wouldn’t stay in the area again if we were to come back and preferred other areas for dinner.

United KingdomGuidance on walks would have been useful. Other customers may find information on transport links available-buses, taxi's some might useful. Would have been nice to have a kettle in the room. A small improvement - not a criticism.
The staff did all they could and really helped to make our visit a memorable experience. The position of the hotel gives good access to both the marina and village. The Roof top terrace was a lovely place to sit and watch the marina.

United KingdomThe music by the pool was every day, except one, far too loud and played mostly absolutely dreadful European techno music. You really would expect more suitable and relaxing music while chilling by the pool, this is not an Ibiza club at 2am! Plus don't think of even asking them to turn it down as they either ignore you or turn the music up! Headphones are recommended if its a chilled time you want by the pool! Also, hire a car, taxis are a ridiculous price!
The hotel is in a glorious position, and from our room we had fabulous views. The rooms are exactly what you would expect, not massively luxurious, however very clean and comfortable. The hotel is in a great position to either walk to the Marina or into Porto Cervo itself. Breakfast is lovely with a good selection of food and great coffee. We only dined in the restaurant in the evening once and sadly it was not a great experience. We arrived late to the hotel and were very hungry after a long journey, the hotel says the restaurant serves food until 10.30, we arrived into the restaurant just before 10 and they were very funny about giving us a table, then a very grumpy and rude water told us because it so late we could only order a main meal (Most of Porto Cervo doesn't start coming alive until about 9.30!) plus many people in the restaurant were being served food after we had ours. The food was not great, mine was passable, however my daughter had the crab pasta, which was essentially pasta in a tomato sauce garnished with some empty crab shells! That said apart from the grumpy waiter on the first night, and a very miserable pool attendant, all the rest of the staff were absolutely charming and really helpful, especially the girls who served breakfast, who couldn't do enough for you and were happy and efficient, and the bar staff who were also lovely. Barbara on the reception desk was so helpful and at all times absolutely lovely in helping us with transport and information of places to go to near by Pool area and gardens were lovely, and they have a courtesy room to shower in if you have a late departure

United KingdomReserved parking price, dinner and any extras at the hotel were somewhat pricey, though this is probably reflective of the area in some respects.
Great views from the hotel across the marina, with a lovely breakfast offering a good selection. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Rooms were clean and well presented with an authentic feeling Italian vibe. The hotel is perfectly situated to easily walk around all parts of Porto Cervo.

ItalyNothing at all
My stay at Hotel Luci di La Muntagna in Porto Cervo was exceptional. The breathtaking views of Costa Smeralda from my room set a perfect backdrop for a relaxing vacation. The decor blends traditional Sardinian elements with modern luxury, and my spacious, impeccably clean room offered incredible comfort. The staff provided outstanding service, always friendly and attentive, ensuring my stay was perfect. Dining at the hotel’s restaurant was a culinary delight, with fresh, local ingredients and Sardinian specialties. The breakfast buffet was also impressive. The pool area is a tranquil oasis, and the spa services were rejuvenating. The hotel’s location is ideal for exploring Porto Cervo and its surroundings. Hotel Luci di La Muntagna exceeded all my expectations. It’s a haven of luxury and tranquility, perfect for a Sardinian escape. Highly recommended!

United KingdomCost of drinks and extras. We had a pre set menu consisting of 4 courses. This was predominantly vegetarian with the main course being deep fried veg....and only this! The cost of these 4 courses was very overpriced!!
Food choices were OK but very expensive. Drinks were also very expensive. (€20 for a gin and tonic! €10 for a beer ) Food was adequate but again lacking in the ' extras' (ie veg), as we were on a group booking with a pre arranged menu. Staff were really friendly and helpful.
