How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

My only comment would be that a car is required for this area.
Great host, big bedroom and bathroom. Great food freshly picked from their garden and chickens! Very responsive and provides a wealth of information about the area.

Giovanna was very sweet and accommodating, even with our last-minute booking. Her home is great and the garden is spectacular, a real mini oasis. She is passionate about the area and gave us good tips for visiting places. The breakfast and coffee were excellent including fruits from the garden and fresh croissants!

Giovanna was such a great hostess. She has a beautiful home and an acreage complete with chickens, ducks. fruit and olive trees. She also agreed to give us a lesson on how to make pizza. We made 4 types in 3 hours and had it for dinner + lots to take with us the next day. She charged us only 80 euros per person. Well worth it!

I absolutely loved the stay here. Giovanna is kind and lovely lady and she takes great care of the property and her guests . Location is convenient, close to Scale dei Turchi, parking and breakfast incl, room is spacious and clean. Thank you !

There really wasn't anything that could have been better.
LUMIE DI SICILIA is a comfortable, charming and cozy private Sicilian house. The traditional breakfast was delicious and we were made to feel comfortable and welcome. We were there during the hot summer but the air conditioning was excellent. Our hostess, Giovanna was lovely! She was helpful in recommending places to see and her place is perfectly located near the ruins and the beach. Great value for the price. Highly recommend!

Beautifully furnished apartment, very colorful with all amenities. Breakfast was very special, fresh bread with tomatoes delicious. Our host Giovanna gave us useful information about what to see and do and where to eat. There’s a lovely garden with parking you need a car to go to the nearby towns and beaches.

We have an amazing stay in Giovanna’s place ! Location is perfect for visiting around The rooms and space is very comfortable. Giovanna has a been a great host with lot of suggestions and she prepares the best breakfast ever! Thanks a lot we have a wonderful time ! See you soon !

I had an incredibly nice stay in this accommodation! I really liked the lovingly designed interior of the accommodation. Parking in the adjacent street was free and easy. The breakfast was homemade and included produce from the garden. The owner was very friendly and communicative and gave me tips and recommendations for the surrounding area. I can only recommend this accommodation, everything was wonderful! Thank you very much, I will definitely come back when I‘ll be back in Sicily one day!

We really enjoyed out stay with Giovanna's in her comfortable rooms. The delicious Sicilian breakfast included home-made cake, eggs from her chickens and citrus fruits fresh from the trees in the garden. A good location to explore all the wonderful places near Agrigento and the coast around Porto Empedocle by car. Giovanna is a wonderful hostess who gave us a very warm welcome and many useful recommendations for things to see and places to eat.

The host was very kind and welcoming, the room was comfy and the bathroom spacious and clean. There's a nice patio and garden to rest and there is parking in the courtyard.

Giovanna is lovely, and it's obvious how much she enjoys welcoming guests, including baking them tasty treats for breakfast. The accommodation is spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The location is excellent for nearby sites; you will need a car, and the secure parking is a real asset.

The dog didn't seem friendly, and was barking a lot , woke up us very early in the morning.
Very nice, spacious room, great host, she made for us take away breakfast as we were leaving early in the morning (it was really delicious!), pretty garden with a really nice terrace to relax on. Private parking that's a bonus !

In addition to being the best value in all of southeast Sicily (if not the entire island) with its spaciousness and comfort, the hosts are the kindest people in the world.

This Bed and Breakfast is a little slice of Sicily. Beautiful gardens, charming decor, and the authenticity and warmth of the hosts truly make it special. The breakfast offers a variety of sweet and savoury options, and the room was spotless and very comfortable. Giovanna was kind, attentive, and quick to respond to any questions I had. I truly hope to return for a longer stay!
