Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Excellent fascilities, faboulous modern room, very comfort bed , large balcony, exellent clean modern bathroom, coffie bar and snacks available, 20 meters from the main square of Matera, safe place and very polite host Franchesco .

The location is superb, just one block away from the main square. The owner was pleasant and accommodating. The breakfast is in a cafe nearby which was also decent. The property is very clean and well maintained with a nice minibar. Free snacks with coffee and tea were also provided! Would definitely stay again.

We made a last minute booking yet the owner helped us so much with parking guidance and helping us get to the room Extremely comfortable and clean. And very good location to explore Matera

Nothing. We had a noisy neighbour one night but that’s life. Apart from that everything was great . The access to coffee and snacks was a real benefit. Breakfast around the corner was basis but good. Perfect spot to stay.
Fantastic location next to the main square which is the prime entrance to the old city. The host was fantastic both in his pre meeting communication and in welcoming us. He assisted us to parked the car, helped with luggage and gave us lots of information on restaurants and things to do. The roomhad everything you next and was in easy reach of great restaurants . As recommended by the owner. I would happily recommend and rebook.

Nothing. All was great.
We had a fantastic stay just a few steps from Matera’s historic centre. Francesco was very kind and helpful, even with our late arrival due to a delayed flight. He assisted with parking and shared great restaurant recommendations. The property was spacious, spotless, and even had a coffee machine. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and we enjoyed the complimentary breakfast at Cremeria Dell’Angelo, just around the corner. Everything was perfect, and I’d highly recommend staying here to anyone visiting Matera

The location of the guest house was perfect, so close to all the sites. Our host Francesco was very helpful at every step of the check in process and provided great recommendations for tours and restaurants.

Location could not have been better - the apartment is within a 5min walk to the sasi and the historic centre but is in a big modern building, so has all the advantages of both historic and modern. Apartment was big, clean, and very comfortable. The host was wonderful - super friendly and helpful. He helped us park the car and sent us a long list of recommendations. Lovely stay!

Breakfast at the local cafe consisted of a tea/coffee and a pastry, served by unfriendly staff. The offer could have been more comprehensive, maybe with juice and eggs as we had come to expect at other B&Bs in Puglia.
The location was perfect, less than 2 minutes walk to the main square and the views over the Sassi. Francesco was incredibly helpful at check-in, helping us to park our car, and with great recommendations for places to eat. The bathroom, although compact had a great shower, and the bed was roomy and comfortable.

Francesco did warn us that the key pad which opens the door to the accommodation can sometimes not acknowledge the code but he would respond immediately & give us access which he did when it played up once in our 3 day stay
Location for both train station, shopping, historical centre, Palombaro lungo cistern visit & Francesco the manager was very helpful with letting us leave our luggage early & also arranging a walking tour in english & also letting us into the property when the key pad had a wobble & we liked the complimentary breakfast at the Gelataria / Cremeria Dell Angelo round the corner

Suited us perfectly.
The level of care and attention to detail was first class. Walk to all of the Sessi in minutes, excellent, quiet location and flawless, friendly host.
