Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

United StatesThere is absolutely nothing on our dislike list for this property. If Booking.com would let me rate this as a 15/10, I would do that..
This place is special. The apartment in which we stayed felt like we were staying in a palace. Specifically, a palace with a super comfortable bed, a custom designed bathroom, terrific air conditioning, a dining area and refrigerator and, most importantly access to Sabina and Salvo’s spectacular rooftop garden with kitchen and dining area. Sabina, an architect and professor, and Salvo, a chef and master gardener, have put such loving care and thought into every detail of the property and into each guest’s experience that I cannot imagine ever staying anywhere else in Naples on future visits. (In fact, we are planning another trip to Naples next year and will be booking our stay here as soon as I finish this review!) If you stay here, you should also be sure to book a dinner on the rooftop during your stay. It was the best meal we had in Italy (and that is really saying something) and, like the rest of your visit, it will be an unforgettable experience. Perhaps most importantly, you won’t feel like you are just staying at an anonymous hotel in Naples, because of the personal attention of Sabina and Salvo. In addition to having one delicious meal after another prepared for us, my wife and I spent hours hanging out on the rooftop garden/oasis talking with Sabina and Salvo about architecture, gardening, cooking, politics, travel, our respective home cities and left Napoli feeling not only like we had stayed at the best place in the city, but that were extremely fortunate to have become friends with two incredibly intelligent, engaging and down-to-earth people. We will be back, Sabina and Salvo!

United StatesPerfect Ending to Our Vacation – A Hidden Gem Near Naples We spent the final two nights of our vacation at this charming bed and breakfast, and it was truly an exceptional experience—one that exceeded every expectation. We originally chose this spot based on glowing reviews and its convenient proximity to the airport, thinking it would offer a quiet and restful end to our trip. What we discovered was so much more. The property is nestled in a peaceful, tranquil area, yet it’s surrounded by wonderful places to explore—perfect for travelers who want a slower pace without missing out on adventure. The home itself is beautiful, and our room—complete with a private entrance—was tastefully designed, comfortable, and thoughtfully appointed. The rooftop access offered a serene place to unwind and take in the lovely views. Salvo and Sabina are exceptional hosts who welcomed us with warmth and genuine hospitality from the moment we arrived. The home is clearly a labor of love, with Sabina’s artistic eye reflected in every detail, and the kitchen is an extension of that passion incorporating Chef Salvo’s high expectations for a kitchen. Breakfasts were delicious and made with care, and we were fortunate to experience a pizza-making class with Salvo that was as informative as it was fun. The true highlight of our stay was a rooftop dinner under the stars—prepared by Chef Salvo in the open kitchen while we watched. Every dish was beautifully crafted and full of flavor, set against the backdrop of perfect weather and a peaceful evening sky. It was a magical, unforgettable moment. This stay was the highlight of our entire trip, and we can’t recommend it enough. If you’re visiting Naples, make this special place a part of your journey. You’ll leave feeling relaxed, inspired, and incredibly well cared for.

IrelandWe cannot find anything we didn’t like. Everything was wonderful. If we could give this home more than 10, we would.
Excellent communication from Sabina prior to our arrival. We were very warmly welcomed, with wonderful hospitality, despite the fact that our flight was delayed significantly. This palace has been tastefully restored, blending several original features with modern touches. What makes Mea Domus so special are the gracious Sabina and her husband, Salvo, a professional chef who prepares freshly cooked cakes for breakfast, with love. Breakfast is served in their beautiful rooftop garden. Dinners Salvo cooked were absolutely delicious too - the best we had in Napoli. When we return, we will definitely try to stay in this fabulous home.

United StatesThe gelato place was hard to find.
The place had a lot of character. It was redone but still had a lot of baroque. The hostess and host couldn’t be more pleasant and attentive. In the Chaia area of Naples. Highly recommended.

United StatesWe had a tremendous stay at Sabina and Salvo’s in late December. Sabina provided great communication leading up to our arrival, and all was in order when we arrived. She was also beneficial in connecting us with a wonderful guide (Paolo) who toured us around Naples and Pompeii. We rented two apartments for our family of four including two 20+ year old sons. The rooms were spacious and comfortable with a small kitchenette we used for making tea. Each room had a king-size bed and a twin bed located in the loft above the bathroom. The location is a little southwest of the historical center of Naples, and a couple of blocks from the sea wall facing the harbor. There are several restaurants and bars in the neighborhood, and there is a train stop a few blocks away. While the rooms were nice, Sabina and Salvo are what make Mea Domus Mergellina truly spectacular. We started every day in their home with a light breakfast prepared by Salvo with cappuccino prepared by Sabina. We accepted their offer to prepare us dinner on Christmas night, and it was one of the best meals we had in Italy. Salvo is professionally trained and a very talented chef, and Sabina is a lovely hostess. The evening we shared with Sabina and Salvo will be a Christmas memory we will never forget. Whether you are just looking for a room with a nice bed, or an opportunity to truly feel like you are living in Naples for a few days, Mea Domus Mergellina is a great option.

The roof terrace was beautiful with lovely breakfast every morning and I'd definitely stay there again in the other room which was an original 19th century decorated room.

Mea Domus is an exceptional place. The hosts, Sebina and Selvo are the warmest and most welcoming people. The accommodation is beautiful and comfortable. There are little unexpected touches everywhere, even iced lollies in the fridge. Selvo is a superb cook who produces excellent food with local products - local cheese, walnuts, home marinated olives and anchovies, wonderful orange conserve. Beds are comfortable, the rooms are clean and spacious. We couldn't think of a single thing that could be improved.

United KingdomI honestly have no negatives about staying here whatsoever!
When we arrived in Naples, much like most other travellers, we were anxious to find our accommodation and settle in ready to start our week. What we got from Sabina and Salvo was so much more. We usually stay in hotels for comfort and ease however when we arrived at the apartment we were stunned with how beautiful it was. The hospitality we received from Sabina and Salvo surpassed anywhere we have stayed previously. They were caring, courteous, and incredibly helpful and friendly. It was quite obvious that they both thoroughly enjoy the city where they live and want travellers to experience the same and will provide all the help they can to assist that. The food that we were served in the morning, prepared by Salvo and served by Sabina was wonderful. It was fresh and was always given to us with a wonderful smile. The location is perfect with easy access to the train routes and a very short walk to the bay. Staying here is an absolute must if visiting the area.

To say that Mea Domus Mergellina is awesome is an understatement. The apartment is great, well designed and refurbished, but what makes it so special are Sabina and Salvo. They provide the most authentic experience you could ask for. Very recommended to have dinner there (ask in advance). Salvo is a professional chef who worked with an authentic legend of the italian cuisine. 5 star+ hotel dining experience on an authentic Napoletana terrace. Breakfast was superb too, and the rooms are spacious, well decorated and comfortable. If you need help, Sabina and Salvo will be more than open to assist. They will walk through walls to ensure that your stay is as confortable as possible. If you stumbled upon this property while planning a trip to Naples, search no more. You won't regret it.
