How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewExcellent location near lots of restaurants and sites, but located on a quite street, so no noise at night (great for our baby to sleep). Plenty of space, it was larger than expected. Air-conditioning worked perfectly in the August heat. The elevator was excellent for the pram and father in-law that uses a walking stick.

The surroundings were a bit too noisy) but I guess this is what you get staying right in the centre)

Verified reviewWe couldn’t have asked for a better location is the main reason I gave this place an excellent review! It is about as central as you can get and almost everything was within a 30 minute walk! Plus very roomy. Tons of restaurants surround it. Some people mentioned problems with hot water but we had plenty! Owner replied promptly to our questions/requests. And we highly recommend using their transportation services as they were prompt and efficient. No way could the 4 of us fit in a taxi with all our luggage! It is a little loud at night but we were so exhausted it didn’t bother us!
Not enough towels but they brought more when we asked. We were there a week so had to buy more coffee and toilet paper but not all rentals provide enough of that anyway!

Verified reviewThe location and almost everything is amazing. Staff are super responsive and helpful.
Hot showers are way too short, 2mins and you have cold water only. Apart from that, nothing else. Although it could be better if having to talk to 1 person only

Verified reviewGreat location, very spacious and beautiful decoration. It has pretty much everything you could need. Nice view. Great staff, super helpful.
Only thing I would suggest as extra for perfection would be a full body mirror; maybe tea for the non coffee drinkers.

Verified reviewThe apartment was charming, its 3 floors up and a lot of stairs so I was thrilled when we arrived and discovered a lift! The apartment is in a very busy part of town not far from the Vatican, it has a vibrant night life with many restaurants and bars right on the doorstep. Please note that this means it’s quite noisy at night-time although our son who slept in the 2nd bedroom couldn’t hear anything as this room is at the back of the building and has no windows. The beds were super comfortable and the bathrooms were clean and well set out. The apartment was very spacious and clean, we didn’t really do any cooking but the kitchen appeared to be well equipped. The wiring in the property is old and our travel adapters didn’t fit in some of the sockets.

Verified reviewThe person who met us was very pleasant and very helpful! They went above and beyond to help us and guide us when we needed them! During our stay one of us got sick and we had to call the ambulance so we contacted the staff and they were there in a few minutes and didn't leave until everything was sorted out! Just what you need when you are in a foreign country and a busy city like Rome! The apartment is a bit outdated, sofa and some furniture could be replaced! But the location in the heart of Rome, a minute walk to Piazza Navona made it perfect!

Verified reviewThis was in incredible apartment located in the heart of Rome. Easy walking distance to all the major sights. It's also in the center of lively streets with lovely restaurants. The apartment was clean and spacious and a lovely oasis above the busy streets. The check in process was easy. The apartment has a lift and is easy to access. We would definitely stay here again.

Verified reviewIt was good location and has spacious space
The hot water came and went, so our family had to take a cold shower when the manager first came, he checked the boiler and hot water was coming. He said there was no problem. Once he was gone, I took the shower without hot water. I hoped the manager wouldn't go far and kept trying to contact him via text and phone but he never responded. When he called me an hour later, I told him there was no hot water at all, but he said there was no problem and that he would come back the next day, but he never came until the day we checked out. When I checked the boiler it was broken. There was a repair sign on the machine. I was staying there and found out that the hot water in the small bathroom was connected to the boiler but the hot water in the big bathroom had a problem connecting to the boiler. I tried to contact the host but he said if I have a problem, contact the manager. Three of the five of us had to take cold showers and cough during our two-week trip to Italy. I think both the landlord and the manager were aware of the boiler problem. If you cannot take shower with cold water, avoid them
Thanks for your feedback and sorry for the experience, we didn't know about the boiler and evertime we were there the hot water was working fine, as you could see when you were there with us. Anyway we changed the boiler

Tired kitchen with no kettle. Bathrooms were in need of updating. One shower working but stuck up with gaffer tape. Fridge dirty and broken door shelves. No tea towel. Storage shelves in kitchen dirty. Windows filthy .
Thanks for being here, we improved the cleaning staff

One of the showers appeared to be broken and we were only able to get cold water from it, the other shower however was fine, this didn’t bother us that much though

Verified reviewLocation, location, location! The living and dining room were excellent. Really liked the period furniture. Also, the coffee maker and teapot. Pier Luigi came to the apartment to take our identification and collect the fees, but also answered many of our questions and recommended good restaurants.
The bathrooms were quite old, but clean. The toilet was extremely low. There was only one shower. However, our room had a jacuzzi tub. But we are older and would much prefer a shower. There was no hot water anywhere in the apartment. Pier Luigi forgot to explain about the hot water heater. But we were only there for 2 days. There were plenty of pillows which is unusual for an apartment, it was very clean, and the living room and dining room were terrific. The kitchen was well equipped, except we couldn’t find the toaster which was listed a kitchen appliance that the apartment did have. Also loved the original elevator.
