Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

everything was just perfect!
We did not stay for breakfast as we had an early departure. The breakfast room is beautiful and I have no doubt that is would match the venue.

Nothing. It was all perfection
Our favourite place to stay in Sicily this trip (we stayed in 4 different places). Perfect location, immaculately clean, wonderfully attentive staff, gorgeous breakfast and every detail thought of. The bedrooms are stunning-I would highly recommend the Barocca which had its own beautifully sunny terrace overlooking the cathedral. Highly highly recommended. Thank you Christina and team

Could have used less rain and cold…LOL. Parking is not easy in town (there is a municipal lot but I’m not sure how to get from there to the hotel). Beware that the streets are tight and narrow. Not that i didn’t like it, but also beware that the town has steep inclines as well as the hotel stairs. Skip Ragusa Superior unless you have a real need to go there (e.g. Ragusa Archive Office)
Breakfast was excellent..in fact it was too much. We had to dial it back. Staff was wonderful! With special shout out to Dario who became our guid and translator on an ancestry expedition. We loved the location of the hotel near several very good restaurants and sites. We loved that it was not “touristy” (think Taormina) and rather peaceful. We were able to drive right up to the hotel and the staff brought us to the location for free parking. The location is also a good jumping off point for other towns and the sea.

Parking and driving in town was not fun, but not the places fault.
The breakfast was fresh and great. The staff were friendly and terrific. Willing to help us on any request. Great location in town. Nice recommendations where to eat and see.

The only downside was the lack of an elevator to reach upper floors, but given the location it's not exactly unexpected. :)
Getting to the hotel via car was a interesting - but we could not have asked for a better location. They were super helpful and communication was efficient.

Nothing. We had a perfect stay.
What a pleasant place to stay. The location was fantastic, right in the center of the old-town. The staff was fantastic. We changed our plans and decided to go to Ragusa on short notice. The Reviews from previous Booking.com guests were spot-on. If you go to Ragusa, you should definitely stay here if you can!

Staff helped with our bags but if you do not have the same assistance it is a haul for bags.
Wonderful entry/reception with cheerful and helpful staff. Set in an historically picturesque street. Rooms well appointed with balcony if you get the right room. Excellent continental breakfast in a character restaurant.

It was really almost perfect but you have to get used to the room design with Shower and Toilett each separated to the rest of the bath‘s facilities within the room. But that’s just a question of taste. It can be loud from the public areas as the doors seems not very well isolated
The host, Christina, is really caring ! She is friendly and helpful. She‘s a ten out of ten

My only disappointment, I needed an iron, but they don't have one!
From our arrival & greeting from Julia, and communication with Christina, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Barocco suite was wonderful, the balcony a highlight, large bedroom, separate large dressing room & a beautiful marble bathroom. Great facilities. We pressed ordered breakfast, from a large choice of options. It was delicious & the service perfect. Thanks Christina & your team.

We completely enjoyed our stay at the boutique neropece hotel. The pluses included the room with its amenities, an amble selection for breakfast, a location next to the main square, proximate free parking and above all the reception. Both Cristina and Giulia could not have been more gracious and helpful. Giulia accompanied me to the parking area and along with Cristina provided wonderful suggestions and assistance planning our time in their city and the surrounding area. Cristina shines as a true hospitality professional.

There were little instructions on how to get to the hotel on the booking confirmation. So when the hotel contacts you via WhatsApp, you may want to call or ask for a map. Once we talked to the lady it was easier to find. Not an issue…just confusing based on how the town is laid out.
The location and the terrace we got was perfect! Loved the relaxing stay and our ability to organize our own little aperitivo on our terrace and just enjoy the quiet.
