How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

A pool at the hotel would have been great. More variety at breakfast (vegetables were missing).

Parking details not provided until after booking. Backup parking lot had a tree nearly in the middle of the entry gate; very difficult to avoid. Distance of parking to room very far. Did not respond when I inquired about parking on the street option. First room was not as expected based upon photos. Upgraded but still not a good value. No soundproofing. Could hear people walk upstairs until 1 am; sound carried. Overall there are better values very close by. We left the property early, ate the charge, we just felt taken.

However, we would like to clarify a few points: parking information is clearly provided in the property details on Booking.com, as required by the platform. Additionally, for greater clarity, we send an automatic message approximately two weeks before arrival with all the details about the available parking options. The second parking lot is located about 500 meters from the hotel, approximately a 5-minute walk, but as mentioned, it was also possible to park on the street if you preferred a closer option. We are sorry that the first room did not meet your expectations; for this reason, we immediately arranged a room change in an effort to satisfy your needs. Finally, we understand your disappointment regarding the early departure, but as stated in the Booking.com booking conditions, cancellations or early departures notified on the same day do not qualify for a refund, as the room remains blocked for the entire stay. Nonetheless, we did refund the parking fee. We regret that you did not find the value for money satisfactory, but we appreciate your feedback, which helps us improve. Verified reviewBreakfasts were fresh and delicious. Wonderful pastries and cakes; lots of fresh fruit. Savoury breakfast options also available and very tasty. Excellent coffee. The room was clean and comfortable, it also had a large balcony and a nice bathroom. Close to the beach, close to the train station (direct connections to Ravenna, Bologna and Rimini). Very friendly and helpful staff. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone planning their trip to Gatteo a Mare :)

Verified reviewNice quiet location, easy to find from the highway. Five minute walk to bars, cash machine, and the beach. A little out of Cesenatico, but they have bikes if you don’t want to drive. Private parking. And the staff are amazing. Sofia and Federico made us feel so welcome, let me practice my Italian (I let them practice there English 🤣), gave information about local area where to find things needed, and always on hand to help. Only had breakfast one day which was for the Nove Colli, the choices available were excellent, cakes, pastries, meat and cheese, dairy, fruit, coffee, juices. The room was plenty big enough, clean, good selection of kitchen utensils, moka pot (very important). Spacious balcony which over looks the street but as mentioned before the street is quiet (this was in May). Bathroom was really clean and the shower was great.

Verified reviewThe owner was lovely, super kind, ready to provide us with tips for our stay, taking best care of us. The entire place is very new and fresh, furnished with good taste. There is a cosy outdoor sitting area, bikes to rent (which makes getting around the resort so much easier). Breakfast was definitely a highlight - fantastic selection of fresh cakes and pastries, cheese, eggs cooked to order, fresh juices and coffee. Great news is that vegan milk and pastries were also available upon request.
The only minor drawback was a bit "thin" walls, meaning sometimes we could hear a lot of conversations happening next doors. Still only a minor issue.

Verified reviewHelpful and friendly staff, great breakfast and coffee, comfortable rooms. Having a balcony was also very nice, and was worth the upgrade. Easy walk to restaurants and the beach. We had a wonderful stay!
Hardly anything not to like! Our only annoyance was the very strong green "emergency" light in the bedroom, which had to be taped over, otherwise the room would have been far too bright to sleep in.
