Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomCheck in process was difficult - steps not clear (I made one booking, but the booking was split across two rooms, so ambiguous instructions) and once an error had been made, difficult to undo.

IrelandShower area in the room and a bit small. It's not really an issue but my teenage daughter and niece found it wired. And no sink in toilet again in the corner of room. However not a big deal breaker for me.
Everything, comfortable bed, roof top garden, everything in the room such a wine glasses, bottle opened,TV,hairdryer, fridge, tea & coffee facilities, coffee maker, laundry service. Any extra supplies required could be got in communal area. Location is no more the 2k from collesum, vatican city, pantheon etc. Numa is in a lovely quiet foodie area of Rome. Breakfast in Cambio cafe was fantastic, really lovely cafe, great food, friendly staff, and lovely atmosphere.

IsraelThe layout of the small room is a bit odd, but not a reason to avoid choosing this place. There isn’t daily cleaning, but you can get fresh towels every day.
Great location. Although it’s a 30-minute walk from the Pantheon and the main shopping areas, it’s close to great restaurants and the lively Roman atmosphere. Lovely staff.

ItalyIt wasn't a problem for me, but the hotel is organized to run on limited staff support, so if you're seeking a place with full concierge services, this isn't it. But if you're happy being fairly autonomous, it's great.
Great location, well-designed rooms, clean and comfortable, easy access

IsraelThere was no real reception which makes it hard when help is needed. Although they have a website with some info, sometimes it wasn’t enough.
Cute place in a good and vibrant area, with good restaurants right around the corner. The room offers a nice mini bar and a small fridge. We needed to do laundry and were happy to find that they have all you need for it.

United StatesWe don't understand why, in a hotel room where two people are expected to stay, only one chair is provided.
The room was spacious. The people who worked at the reception desk tried to be helpful. Breakfast was included, and it was good, but it was offered at a restaurant 2 blocks away.

BelgiumThe bathroom is pretty much in the main space of the room itself, together with the bed. Only the toilet is separated. So probably not the place for a trip with a random friend.
The location is great, close to Trastevere train station, close to bus stops to Roma Termini. Walking distance of Circus Maximus, Forum Romanum, Colloseum, Vatican City. Lots of breakfast, lunch and dinner places around, as well as bars.

United KingdomI can't think of anything they could improve upon which wouldn't start pushing up the price.
Ease of booking, helpful Whatsapp communications and access to hotel were all excellent. When we got there, the receptionist was friendly and allowed us straight into our room, despite our early arrival. The room was clean and comfortable. We found that the coffee machine wasn't working and they fixed it straight away. The location was great to explore Rome on foot. When we checked out, they had a secure luggage locker for us to use for the day. I would definitely use this range of hotels again and am already looking at other locations.

IsraelThe only minor issue I encountered was with the hot water in the shower—it took some time to heat up and wasn't always consistent. Additionally, while communication via email was excellent, improving responsiveness on WhatsApp could make it even more convenient for guests who prefer instant messaging.
I arrived at the hotel late at night without a reservation. While the hotel operates a self-check-in system, there was a receptionist present who was incredibly helpful. Both the staff member on-site and the team I communicated with via email were excellent—quick to respond, friendly, and genuinely eager to assist. Despite booking the last available room that evening, which was a bit too small for me, the next day I noticed that a larger room (standard) had become available. Without hesitation, the staff accommodated my request to move, making the entire process smooth and hassle-free. The room was spacious (larger than most hotel rooms I've stayed in while in Rome), spotlessly clean, and looked brand new. The hotel’s location in Trastevere is fantastic—right in the heart of the action—but once you close the window, it’s completely quiet inside.

PortugalThe only downside is that the room is not as spacious as the pictures suggest. It is difficult to have 3 people all at the same time in such a small room.

CanadaThe location also had a downside of being very noisy at night especially on Friday/Saturday/Sunday nights. Shower did not drain quickly as well as spotty hot water The radiator in our room was broken so when you tried to turn it on it leaked water, kept it off the whole time
Central location and easy to walk to amazing restaurants, bars and all the major sites are at least 20 to 30 mins walk away making it the perfect place to stay to explore Rome. We also had the room with the balcony on the 2nd floor and this is an absolute must any time of year
