Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomAll good
Very comfortable accommodation and the main house, museum and restaurant are absolutely wonderful. Monica was a great host and a superb cook and the meal was certainly by far the best we have had in Sardinia. Everything was prepared with care and flair and I couldn’t recommend this place highly enough

United KingdomVery authentic hotel attached to a museum. Rooms very traditional in style and very clean. Monica the host is very proud of her heritage and very charming. Monica cooked a traditional Sardinian meal which was really good. We stayed for two nights and had a day out on the Little Green Train from Mandas to Laconi a trip worth doing.

United KingdomA little more could have been made of the court yard outside the accommodation making it comfortable to sit. Orroli itself has now where to go , no bars/ restaurants/shop open in the afternoon in September. So a bit stuck unless driving off again.
Wonderful host, interesting museum excellent food.

Lovely historical villa which also includes a museum for guests to visit - both the owner and the staff have been incredible. They made us feel at home and allowed us to experience true Sardinian history through the museum and the tasting menu which I would totally recommend!

United KingdomWe liked everything.
Omu Axiu was hands down the best part of our extensive tour of Southern Sardinia. We did love the beaches and driving around the mountains, too, but experiencing the traditional Sardinian food offered at Omu Axiu, all home-made and exquistely and lovingly prepared, in addition to being attended to with such care by Monica and Samuela, and getting an extensive tour of the beautiful museum of traditional Sardinian life and farming...simply WOW! The rooms are all distributed in the village and guests come to the main museum and restaurant, right by a gorgeous courtyard and centuries-old olive tree, for a multi-course meal of excellent quality in the evening, and a ravishing breakfast in the morning. After breakfast we were given an amazing tour of the museum -- so much to explore for parents and small boys alike. And all the while possible to talk to Monica about her life in Sardinia and the life of past Sardinians. Upon Monica's suggestion, we also went to see nearby Nuraxi Arrubiu, which we ended up enjoying more than the much more famous Su Nuraxi at Barumini. The little village of Orroli is also a delight for its own sake, very rural and nestled in gorgeous hills. Nearby Nurri is also gorgeous, and Orroli is a great base for getting to Barumini and the fabulous Parco de la Giara, too. If you like mountains and traditions, then Omu Axiu is just for you. As an additional aside, Omu Axiu has a great family room set-up, where the kids sleep in one area and the parents in another, separated by half a wall -- so it's technically a single room (kids feel safe) but in fact it feels a bit like two rooms.

PortugalThe hotel part is very bad. Is at 200m from the main building where you have dinner , there is no security ( main door key does not go out of the lock), the building is very old and everything makes noises, is not very clean and the bed is very very bad on the room we stayed. We where the only ones there and for 85 euros was a lot for what we would expect. Even if the food was pretty amazing and the host was very nice the experience was very bad on the hotel part.
The best food we got to eat in the island! Amazing food on dinner and breakfast!

United KingdomThe rooms really need more attention. They are not in the main building and were very basic. Basic is not a problem for us but unfortunately a lot of bird poo and lack of furniture made the outside areas unusable. The rooms smell funny. A bit like a very old tramp. The beds and bath were clean but the building felt dirty, not in a rural way but urban-style dirty.
very interesting location and very friendly staff. They don’t speak any English but were very patient with us and our extremely basic Italian. The rooms would really need a makeover but they were good enough for two nights hiking and eating. The dinner and breakfast are indeed very good and the bespoke museum tour was great fun for the kids and us.
