How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

This is a small and very well run guest house in the centre of Palermo. It is quiet and well maintained. The host was very accommodating even going so far as to get fresh, gluten free, pastries for my daughter's breakfast. I'd definitely stay here again.

Marco was an excellent and accommodating host. He provided valuable recommendations for exploring Palermo and making the most of our visit. If you wanna feel safe and be close to the city centre, this is the place to book! It was clean, the breakfast was delicious with sweet and salty options, our room was cleaned every day and towels replaced regularly and the host was welcoming. We also got new water bottles every day in our mini fridge so that was great. We also got to leave our luggage at the reception the day of our check out cuz we had a late night flight and wanted to explore the city for one more day, and came back at 7pm the same day to pick them up.

The hotel is very well located, close to all the main tourist attractions. Marco was incredibly kind and attentive. I had mentioned that I needed to leave early in the morning and also asked if there were any gluten free options for breakfast - he truly went above and beyond. He prepared a sandwich with gluten-free bread and left it in the fridge for my early breakfast, along with some delicious cookies. You could tell everything was made with genuine care and generosity. He was also very friendly and clearly enjoyed making guests feel at home. The place was very comfortable and quiet at night, which made for a great rest. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and for anyone who’s coeliac, there’s a restaurant few steps away that serves gluten free pasta and pizza. A lovely experience — I’d definitely come back!

Be careful to entrance it's very low ;)
Marco is a fantastic host, very kind and welcoming, the room is comfortable and the location is close to the center, monuments and bus to the airport. The breakfast is a tasty buffet. Everything was good, next time we will go back to Marco's place for sure.

It doesn't have to do with Marcos place but Italy's breakfast culture is very different from ours. They emphasize sweets while we eat protein and fat so I would hve preffered more of those options. But as I say we encountered this in every Italian acommodation.
The best part of the experience was the host. Marco is an amazing, kind, warm and open individual that made us feel safe and welcome. I would definetly recommend this place.

Excellent central quiet location, BnB very clean with everything we needed. Marco was amazing and so helpful with recommendations. Bus times , Helping us organise our return to the airport. The breakfast was lovely very well organised and Theresa was a lovely in making sure we enjoyed our breakfast each morning. We chose the absolute best B and B in Palermo and definitely recommend it. Showers were a tad small but then again you are in Europe , can’t really expect more . Pillows a bit flat but no biggy , just fold it Keep in mind this is a BnB, no reception at night , you are given 3 keys, one to get in the main building , one for the apartment (Opera) and one for your bedroom It’s a 7 bedroom apartment unit We occupied 5 .
Great location, 10 minute walk to main area. Multiple cafes right outside the door, which made a great stop for a drink or gelato before heading inside hotel.

Was difficult to find the entrance, could have a bigger sign saying B&B Opera
The air condition was excellent, the room had the required facilities. Good staff which provided good tips for visits and restaurants.

Operá is in a perfect location to visit Palermo, and it is squeaky clean. The staff is so friendly! The breakfast was plentiful, and we had a very comfortable stay there. We would definitely stay here again.
