How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The parking space is 400 meters away from the apartment, not very convenient to walk the distance with luggage.
Excellent location, a 6-min walk from the centre of Santa Margherita and the bus station for portofino. Very clean, self check in, the lift was a big plus, because the rooms are on the second floor. Private parking space is available, under request, with a payment fee of course.

I booked this getaway very last minute and the experience was a total pleasure. The host was so genuine and wonderful and it was such a comfortable base to explore the area. Every day I walked to Portafino and adored all the beaches along the coast.

Nothing, was ideal for what we needed
Fantastic location, 5 mins walk to the seafront. Access to a separate garage was beneficial too. A compact room and bathroom, clean and great value for money.

Not a negative thing in reality. We ran out of hot water once, but it was on a longer shower so it was probably that. Next morning it was all working!
The room was very clean and tidy. There was a mini fridge and a kettle that turned out to be useful. Staff was very helfup. There was a cute balcony where we got to eat breakfast! Also great location near the train station and a quick walk to city centre.

Luckily we reserved the parking in advance because you would have to be very lucky to find a space on the street close to the Ora Blu. The enclosed parking is a 5 min walk, no big deal. The arrival process was slightly messy because we stopped in front of the establishment, where there is not even a place to park for a few minutes, and the instructions that the owner gave us during the subsequent phone conversation were a little difficult to follow....but ok, again no big problem. If you want a hotel experience, with reception, bar and restaurant this is not what the Ora Blu provides - it is basically a floor of rooms in an appartment block. All communication / transactions are remote. We missed the "personal touch" ....but to be fair that is how this establishment is advertised.
This appartment type establishment, in a nice area, is 5 minutes walk from the many bars and restaurants of Santa Margherita. It is bright, clean, and our room had a modern bathroom. There was good wifi and the air-con worked well. The reservation suited our purpose, which was simply to have a room from where to base ourselves for a couple of days while visiting the Cinque Terre and other local attractions.

Shared rooms within an apartment. Does not take standard Euro /UK plug convertors apart from the bathroom, but slimmer two pin plugs instead

The room seemed like it was a lot bigger in the pictures. But it wasn't that big of a deal. We spent most of our time outside anyway. All is good.
The location was very close to the city center and the beach. The street that it's located on is beautiful. It's easy to find places to eat nearby as well.

Hairdryer not great for very long hair.
Lovely home from home, great location to explore StMdL on the doorstep. Very comfortable bed, tea/coffee facilities, good sized TV, lovely balcony. Great communication with owner, easy to find, 7 mins from train station. Really enjoyed our stay, highly recommend.

The apartment was very clean and near the city center. The hosts were exeptional. Somehow the key from the front gate broke in the late evening and they came to solve the problem.

the only thing was the shower, not really a problem but the bathroom floor would get covered with water every time someone was using the shower
