How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewEverything was amazing! - All the people that work at the hotel and we interacted with were EXTREMELY nice and helpful. - The room was super clean. - The room was quiet, we had curtains which made the room dark in the middle of the day so you could sleep as much as you want. - The bed was excellent; big and comfortable. Also the pillows. - Great location; close to everything. - Parking right outside the hotel. - All the things in the room of high quality materials: slippers, towels, bed sheets, toilet paper etc - The air conditioner worked as a charm, and the room is not overheating during the night so even if it was hot we slept so good.
Nothing to complain about. When we will be back definitely we’ll be staying here again. 100% worth the money. Our stay was perfect

Verified reviewBeautiful design throughout. Very helpful and welcoming reception staff. Excellent breakfast and very friendly staff serving breakfast. Slept brilliantly. Lots of storage in the room. Location was good - not too far to historic parts but also good for shops and services nearby.

Verified reviewI don't understand how the hotel is defined as 5 stars. They send you to a parking lot 600 meters from the hotel without the clerk's desire to take the car. An air conditioning system that doesn't work. There is construction going on near the hotel from early in the morning. Very basic breakfast at a buffet A gift was sent by the hotel for the dissatisfaction.

However, for guests who prefer not to park on the street, we are pleased to refer them to a trusted partner garage, located approximately 400 meters from the hotel — a typical setup in historic centers like Lecce. Regarding the air conditioning: there was no technical issue. During your stay, the weather was unusually cool, and the majority of guests had requested heating. When you asked for air conditioning, we adjusted the system settings accordingly, and this was completed by the second day of your stay. As for breakfast, we would like to clarify that it is offered as a combination of a small buffet and à la carte service, featuring fresh, high-quality local products. Many items are served directly at the table as part of the personalized and discreet service we aim to provide. The small gift you received was not compensation, but rather a gesture of courtesy, and part of the attention we offer to all our guests. Nearby construction works — though entirely beyond our control — are temporary, and we always strive to ensure a calm and comfortable environment within the hotel. We are sincerely sorry that your stay at Palazzo Giusti Lecce did not fully meet your personal expectations. Please know that we always do our very best to offer each guest a tailor-made and attentive experience — just as a boutique hotel should. Television auto-started multiple times in the middle of the night. The attention to detail during the first breakfast was mediocre (many small details), however they took all our feedback into account and reacted very positively, fixing almost everything on the second day.

Beatrice at reception was so helpful for anything we needed and the breakfast was amazing and delicious and fabiana was great as well Comment about cars... There is no parking at the hotel but they have arranged a nearby garage for €20 a day which means you don't have to worry about the car and you can take it out at your leasure
The room that we were in was ground floor so didn't have a view from the window.
