Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The air conditioning did not work properly. Staff (dealing via phone) was not helpful.
Very clean and tidy. Beautiful jacuzzi.

I had a couple of issues with the air con and the jacuzzi but the staff were very quick to resolve any issues. Very helpful.
Spacious room with reception, bedroom, bathroom and separate toilet. Very helpful and attentive staff, the cleaner was very kind and friendly and even let me check in early. The property is quiet and located in a quiet area, a short walk into town.

Not much but my shower was a bit small for me.
The rooms at Palazzo san Lazarro are very stylish and comfortable. They are an easy 10 minute walk from the centre of Lecce and very quiet. Our host was very helpful. They are very good value for the location and quality.

Very friendly staff. Room was clean and simple - wood and earth tones. It felt refreshing. The jacuzzi/spa bath was huge! The location was good - just outside the old town, which meant that it was possible to escape from the other tourists! As a solo traveller, I like to have some nights off from the stress of eating out. I could have easily eaten out in the area, but instead I chose to buy food at the local Coop supermarket. (My stay coincided with thunderstorms, alas, and so I have decided to visit Lecce again in better weather - and I'll definitely stay at the same place again.)

Water was not replaced each day.
Easy access/check in. Walkable distance from the centre of the town. Free parking on the street outside overnight and for periods during the day. Clean room. Friendly cleaning staff. Comfortable bed.

Limited breakfast at bar near the hotel. All automated system, basically no staff but easy contact with WhatsApp.

Everything was PERFECT
I didn't book a breakfast but the coffee maker an fridge in the room were great for putting food in. I actually went out and sat in a little café and had a coffee and some gorgeous Italian patisseries

As much as I like the self check in. When it comes to an emergency in the middle of the night, and the emergency phone number is not answering, I prefer to have someone at the front desk at night. After the power went out in the middle of the night and came back again, our room had no electricity. No airconditioning. In a room without windows. We had to open our bedroom door for air. I called several times, sent e-mails. No one came to help. We were up from 3.00 am trying not to fall asleep with our door open. We got that night free of charges from the hotel manager. And a lot of apologies. Doesn’t feel right though.
I liked the room right away. Even though we had no windows and it was small, the high curved ceiling made good for it. The bathroom on the other hand was spacious. With a walk-in closet and separate toilet. The shower was a little cramped with the shower head almost as big as the shower it self ;) The whole idea of self check in is fabulous. No front desk personnel needed.

Even though we did not meet any staff as the check in was self check in, Simone was extremely helpful in guiding us through the process by WhatsApp. We found an elegant interior and truly delightful rooms which were quiet and clean. It is just a 10 min walk to the centre of Lecce and there is free parking as well as paid parking slots in abundance (depending on the time of arrival). Would highly recommend Palazzo San Lazzaro to anyone visiting a wonderful city!

We were upgraded to the jacuzzi suite which was super spacious. It was just what we needed as had our family staying in same hotel for a wedding in Lecce.

Lack of written information in English ie which bin is for what purpose etc There were construction workers in the adjoining apartment drilling early morning. The noise level wasn’t too bad but we were aware

very little natural light. which is not even a problem if you are only there for a day or two.
Nicely decorated and arranged room. I was surprised by the size of the room. very comfortable bed and good lighting in the bathroom. I only stayed one night but the friendliness of the people, location and very good price for the value you get. would choose this accommodation again
