How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe location is good (right next to Roma Termini)
First of all this is not a hotel. This is a refurbished apartment. There is no reception and the two bathrooms are shared by all guests (4 rooms share 2 bathrooms). The bathrooms have mold in them, especially in the showers, and because there are so many people sharing 2 bathrooms they can get quite dirty. How clean they are depends on how well behaved the other guests are. The room service and cleaning is quite rare. At the end of our trip our trash can was overflowing and our room wasn’t cleaned. The a/c broke twice during our stay. The first time the owner fixed it and the second time it fixed itself but an a/c shouldn’t be this unstable during a heatwave in Italy. This has never happened to us on our whole Italy trip. Also, there is a bright street light right next to the window and the curtains are too thin and transparent to block it at night

Verified reviewFantastic location. The train station, metro and main bus stop, including for the 8 euro airport express bus, are just a block away. One of the hop on bus stops is there too, which I like to do the first day in a new city. I walked to every attraction that I planned out, except for the Aquaduct Park which is a short metro ride to the outskirts of the city (excellent jogging there BTW).
The bed was too hard for me. But that is not uncommon because I am high maintenance on that. I sometimes travel with a separate suitcase just to bring a foam mattress.

Verified review✅✅✅ The location was awesome, 15 minute walk to the Colosseum, nice cafes with tasty breakfasts and takeaway pizza slices on the way, great dinners within walking distance, accessible via multiple buses and near two metro stations. ✅✅✅ The room was spacious, the bed comfortable, there was a TV, a good Wi-Fi connection, lots of places to set your things, a desk for working if needed, a floor-length mirror, hangers, etc. We had clean towels given to us and some shampoo/body wash for the duration of our stay, with the option to get a refill. There’s also free coffee on the premises!
DON’T let the main AI description of this place on booking.com lead you to believe that you will have a private washroom here. There’s two washrooms in the hallway. They are perfectly fine and clean, if a bit smelly at times - probably some issue with the canalization due to the building the apartments are in. But you will have to share. I would bring flip flops to use in the shower just in case. DO bring a sleeping mask because the room we stayed in didn’t have any curtains at all. The owners should definitely put up a curtain, as there is a rod to hang them on. DO have a way to call their number because there is no reception and no buzzer with a corresponding label by the entrance. Luckily, my mom had roaming.

Verified reviewI saw comments about the dodgy area, it is a little bit but not that bad. There's a lot of police by the train station nearby and during the day It's not noticeable. Felt safe there. I love that the train station is next door and important sights like colosseum are 20-min walk, makes it easy to get around.
Make sure to bring an eye mask as the curtains don't block the lamp or morning light shining in your room, luckily I had some so it wasn't a problem. The bathroom is shared which I only noticed after reading reviews. Wasn't so bad as it was quite and I only saw someone once, so I didn't feel rushed or lacked as much privacy, however I couldn't take my time as I normally would like to. Was also a little tricky finding the right door when checking in but that's an easy fix with better messaging.

Verified reviewOnly location
We missed the fact that it had a shared bathroom, which was very uncomfortable. The bathroom was very narrow and unpleasant. One of the guests had the flu and was constantly using the bathroom. I forgot my facial cream in the bathroom, and someone stole it. I notified the owner, and they said they would investigate but never responded. We did not stay at this hotel for more than one day but had to pay for all the days we reserved because it was non-refundable. Furniture was very old and even the walls were very dirty. Everyone should think carefully before deciding on this hostel; you can find plenty of better hotel rooms in good locations for the same price.
