Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The girls at the reception are very kind, especially Anna, and they are extremely helpful. The hotel is clean and well-maintained, and the rooms are cleaned every day. I will definitely return.

The entrance to the hotel isn't the best. But it didn't affect our stay that much.
We were met with great information about the city and things to do and places to visit. Super friendly and great English! The room was very comfortable, fresh and well equipped.

We had a truly perfect stay at Hotel Plaza Ungheria! From the moment we arrived, everything was just amazing. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and perfectly located for exploring the city. A special thank you to Ana, the lovely young woman at the front desk, who was incredibly kind and helpful. She assisted us with everything we needed and always made us feel welcome. Her warm attitude and professionalism made a big difference in our stay. Palermo is the most beautiful place we’ve ever visited – full of history, charm, and unforgettable views. Staying at this hotel made the experience even better. We highly recommend Hotel Plaza Ungheria and can’t wait to return!

Everything was great for the price and the location!
The location was great, the main street of the city so close to the hotel, great accomodation for the location and price. Also the reception was really great - helped me even after the checking in time for me to get in and check without any problems, great service!

Something which we didn’t think was clear from the descriptions or reviews: this is not your average/normal hotel. It is rooms on the first floor of a shared building and breakfast is in a cafe down the road (not the same building). It’s was almost like a serviced room rather than hotel. Breakfast is small; a single cup of tea/coffee and 1 sweet or savoury pastry. It didn’t ruin it but definitely not expected or not for you if you want the experience of a proper hotel.
The rooms are lovely, small but well equipped. The staff were amazing and so helpful and actually were the best bit! Location also very good.

The outside of the hotel looked poorly and there were no functioning elevator
The host was very accommodating and spoke well English. She came down to meet us and helped us with the baggage. We also spoke through WhatsApp beforehand, where she answered multiple questions we had.

very clean, pleasant smell in the hotel and room, which is very important to me. Breakfast is standard - coffee and croissant. but the service of the girl at the reception is a different story. I have not seen this in the best hotels. This is a VIP service. it's like you're in a sail hotel in Dubai. For her sake I would return to this hotel 100%

We were very satisfied, the accommodation is very clean, the staff is kind and helpful. We received personalized service, they contacted us even before our arrival. It is in the center, so everything can be reached on foot. We were briefed on what to find and where in the city. We were also satisfied with the breakfast. Free coffee is available at the reception and what I especially liked is that there is a terrace where you can smoke without having to hang out on the street. It is important for me. I recommend it if you want a good value for money accommodation in Palermo.
