The rooms were pretty run down and I think the boutique feel of the hotel was super random and cheap-looking. Pool is small, it's more of a dipping place, but ok. The thing is that the pool surroundings were super messy, towels were pretty bad and random. In general it was disappointing.

breakfast was brilliant, absolutely huge variety and lot of super tasty things. I liked the general vibe of the hotel and staff was great.

The hotel is located in the city center, close to everything. Special and surprising design. Clean and comfortable room. Our terrace faced an internal courtyard. Sicilian breakfast is served generously. Everything is fresh and delicious. Excellent coffee and authentic and delicious cakes.... Warm and kind service. Many thanks to the hospitality.

Amazing location close to the center of Palermo (the palace and cathedral). The hotel has a beautiful, modern design while preserving its historic elements. The small but well-located pool was perfect for cooling off. We received a wonderful welcome, and all the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. Without a doubt, I would book this hotel again on my next visit to Palermo!

The ac remote controls are not user friendly

They put a large selection of food on your table for breakfast. I would sooner just pick the items I want myself. The fruit was not very ripe. The staff are all very nice and helpful.

Nothing really! Be ready for HUGE breakfasts which we finished during the day for our lunch and snacks. A little difficult to hang wet towels as I assume the old building prevents hooks etc. on walls but the room’s cleaned each day and towels/sheets replaced so not a real problem

What a find! This is such a quirky location originally a church then a mosque (with remnants of both still evident in exposed tiles and stone work) tucked away in the centre of Palermo. The staff are incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. Even if driving to the hotel through the narrow streets of Palermo has raised your blood pressure, worry not about car parking as Alexandro is adept at manoeuvring all guests’ vehicles in the hotel’s secure, hidden and very local lock up. Just a few seconds’ walk take you to their private and shady swimming pool. An inviting option on a sweltering summer’s day.

First of all, set your mind to “Palermo mode” – then you’re ready. 1. **Location:** Perfect – right in the centro storico, just next to the Palazzo dei Normanni. There’s even a police station nearby. 2. **Style:** The hotel is set in a former church, and you can still see many of the original details, tastefully integrated into the design. The pool area is also creatively arranged and truly unique. 3. **Hospitality:** This is what really makes the place stand out. In our case, the first room felt a bit “claustrophobic”, and without hesitation we were offered alternative rooms at the same rate. Overall, highly recommended.

Never figured out how to turn the bathroom light off. Or the bedside lights on. But in the scheme of things very, very minor! The actual stay was perfect.

Gem of a B&B. I arrived fairly late but was welcomed with cassata which was a treat! Decor is unusual but fun, and some of the original structure is visible, from the well in the dining room to tiles in the shower. I was upgraded from the economy room which was lovely. Breakfast was immense, I was a solo traveller but I think they gave me the same as if I were two. The pool is worth visiting, hidden across the road, I went for a morning swim and there were towels, showers, snacks, and loungers, all inside an old church. Staff was friendly and helpful and check-in came with tips for food and navigation. I went to one of the restaurants on the list, and was very happy with the choice. Another was a deli that was outside the tourist zones (like an Italian Wholefoods), and I happily stocked up on cheeses to take home. Location - Google sent me up the residential back roads/via the food market from the station which was possibly not the best with a case, but actually it's just off the main road for a slightly less direct route. It's right on the edge of the historic Palermo, so perfect for visiting the Palazzo and is right on the tip of the east arm of the main tourist crossroads. The closest station is Palazzo, but walking from Centrale is probably faster.

    Nothing.

Amazing staff who couldn’t do enough for you. I returned one afternoon after a long day of sightseeing and happened to say, jokingly, I’d love a drink. I was given a glass of wine. No charge. As commented on extensively by others the breakfast is top class. The pool is a gorgeous little oasis of tranquility. It is perfectly situated to access some of the main sights eg Palatine Chapel, Cathedral, Ballaro Market, Quattro Canti etc but is far enough removed from the nighttime buzz to be lovely and quiet. I had a great time here.

Wonderful stay at this hotel in the middle of town. The staff treated us so well, and the rooms were nice and large for our family. The pool was a welcome break from the heat of the day, and the breakfast was simply spectacular. We had never been treated to such a huge feast every morning. A very nice stay in a colorful vibrant city.

Hot tub spewed out dirty water but this is not the fault of the hotel. The maintenance men will clean it properly now we have reported that.

Excellent reception staff. Took us aside to show us map of the area and things to see and do. They gave us nice glass of cold water while we were chatting. The breakfast was one of the best breakfasts we have ever had 😋

We had the best time staying at Porta di Castro! Our room was beautiful and they always kept it clean. Breakfast was great and the staff were very kind and hard working! Very good location too, as many attractions were within a short walking distance! The hotel also had a pool that helped cool us down during our stay! Finally, they even let us check out late in the afternoon (6pm) free of charge and the owner went above and beyond to make us feel like home!

The rooms we had seemed newly renovated. We would have enjoyed a full body mirror in the room instead of using the one in the bathroom.

Great location, decorations looked better than in pictures and the staff was very friendly. The receptionist Dalila gave us a lot of hints and helped us moving around. The restaurant recommended by the owner (La Galleria) was indeed a great choice
