Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesAir conditioning didn’t work properly, beds were tiny- smaller than my children’s beds at home, far from the city and no scooter rentals available or tours - we wanted to visit a winery but impossible to arrange transportation without costing 3x’s the price of the winery tour
Great location, beautiful private beach that was not crowded, amazing suckling pig dinner, delicious breakfast and very reasonable priced meals, bus access to the city and beaches

FinlandWe were not full-board customers like almost everyone else, but were allowed to eat dinner there one day (thanks to the reception staff!!). The food was low quality and tasteless, the waiter didn’t speak english but pretended to understand and thus we got red wine instead of white (and impossible to change once the bottle was opened and we had signed the order confirmation). That wine was ok taste but way too warm. Bar personel was rude and unpolite, instead of serving customers they started service by asking if we really were customers of the hotel (not sure can you even buy a drink if you are not). That made us feel very unwanted customers so we decided to have also drinks and lunches outside the hotel which is easy if you have a car. Breakfast was ok, except the coffee that is instant from an automatic machine. If the food was good and the service everywhere at the same level than reception, this could be a 10/10 place.
Amazing location, nice an quiet. Own very nice beach with beach chairs (second row included in the price), nice pool and was in use all day (even when the lifeguard wasn’t there). Very nice service from reception staff, they really did their best to make us feel very welcome. Nice and clean rooms, nothing special but good and comfortable. Nice athmosphere, the guests are greeting eachothers and there is an active staff that plays music by the pool and organises evening shows for kids. Feels a bit like being on a cruise ship.

CanadaThe 2nd floor terrace has an amazing view! It would be nice to enjoy this terrace after dinner, with some nightcaps and wine. However, when dinner is finished at 9:00pm, you will only have 15 minutes to do so, as there is a loud speaker and entertainers that are geared toward small children. There were about 80 paying adults on there terrace, all listening to 'Baby Shark', and many other children songs, blaring away to entertain 7 children. It was such a beautiful and perfect terrace until the children basically sent us to our room for the night to watch tv. This went on until 11:00pm every night of the week except for Saturday night, where they had a live singer for adults. This seems like a small issue, but was affecting 6 of 7 of our evenings at this resort; extremely disappointing, and I would not return, specifically because o this. Do not come here unless you have small children.
Location. Staff. View. Cleanliness: The staff at th restaurant are amazing. Particularly, the head waiter, Luigi. He found us vegan and vegetarian options that were not available on the main dinner menu. If not for Luigi accommodating the menu to suite our dietary restrictions, we would not have anything to eat, on most nights. As well, Lia was fantastic and Angelica, always with a smile on her face. You will not find a better wait staff than at this property; anywhere!. They also always had someone who would help us with English to Italian translation.

United StatesI love the beach in situ. The place is beautiful and you can skip going to the busy places for a while. You have everything you need on the hotel- beach, restaurant, snack bar, etc. It is great for families with kids- they have all day activities for the younger kids.

ItalyDinners in the restaurant were hit or miss...sometimes the food was great, other times not. As a solo traveler, I occasionally felt overlooked / forgotten by the waitstaff.
Hotel Portoconte is lovely. Simple accommodations are clean and comfortable. The location with its private beach, large pool, and well-kept grounds offered instant relaxation. The staff was friendly and helpful. There is a bus stop across the street to easily venture to other locations for excursions. I recommend this hotel.

HungaryThe only downside for us was the food — while the quality was good, it didn’t quite match our personal taste, and we missed having typical Italian classics like pizza. Breakfast was a bit too basic and repetitive for a longer stay. Occasionally there was a mild odor from the bathroom drains, but it wasn’t a major issue.
We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Portoconte — truly one of our best holidays, and we hope to return! The location is excellent, with a beautiful sandy beach and a great pool. The water is crystal clear, calm, and shallow — ideal for swimming. The staff were always friendly and helpful, and our room was clean, comfortable, and well-renovated, with excellent noise isolation and air conditioning. Housekeeping was exceptional. It's a perfect spot for relaxation: far enough from nightlife to be peaceful, but close enough to Alghero for a short trip out. There were always enough sunbeds and umbrellas available. A small gym would be a nice addition.

LithuaniaHowever, there were some drawbacks. Not all staff members spoke English, which made communication difficult in certain situations. On my birthday, I didn't receive any acknowledgment or greetings from the staff, which was disappointing. The breakfast selection was quite limited, mostly offering sweet Italian dishes, so there was no option for savory food.
The hotel left a very positive impression with its well-developed outdoor infrastructure and a fantastic beach, where you could enjoy clean sand and warm water. The rooms were clean, and the food served at dinner was of high quality, with a wide variety of dishes to choose from.

IrelandThe town is a 20-minute drive (30 minutes by bus) away, which can be either convenient or inconvenient depending on your holiday preferences. Unfortunately, there are no proper walking paths nearby, which is a shame given the beautiful views, and other than the forest and a tower there's nothing nearby to visit without a car. The animation team was friendly but offered minimal activities, with all announcements and events conducted in Italian.
Magnificent views, soft sand, and crystal-clear waters. All rooms are just a 2-minute walk from the pool or beach. Although the pool is small, it’s rarely crowded as most guests prefer the beach. However, beach sun loungers tend to be fully booked by 8 AM since there are only two rows available (front rows cost €20 per day). The private beach is beautiful but short, about half a kilometer wide with private properties on one side and rocky areas on the other. Breakfast is simple but adequate, cereals, a variety of pastries, meats, and cheeses. Very spacious and clean rooms. Small shop about 10 minute walk away. Alghero town is beautiful with cobbled streets and lots of choices of restaurants.

IrelandAll the staff except the reception staff were friendly, we booked for bed and breakfast and the first evening i asked was there anywhere to eat and was told that every one who comes to porto conte knows there is no where else to eat and the hotel was booked out for dinner unless we paid 15 euro per person per night. This is not true there are plenty of places to eat and there is a bus for those who do not drive that brings you to all these places. There is also a small resturaunt less than 300 meters from the hotel. The hotel has some strange rules. One of them being they won't give you the remote control for the Aircon. so our aircon was set to full blast until i managed to convince the receptionist to give me the control to turn it down. There was also a pretty distressing fight in the breakfast room one of the mornings. this made a lot of people leave the room. When leaving we were charged city tax that was double what it is anywhere else in Sardinia. when i queried the city tax i was told that everyone who comes to the hotel knows about the city tax. Its unfair to assume that everybody knows!
The Hotel Porto Conte is situated on one of the nicest beaches in one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. it is set in a spectacular national park and is beautiful. The beach is a few meters from the hotel and is kept pristine, the water is shallow and warm and perfect for kids. All up this is perfect place to holiday with children.

NetherlandsI wish the breakfast options were better and richer with healthier options. It was limited to dairy products, bread and sugary baked stuff. There were nearly no vegetables other than tomatoes. I asked for cucumbers but they didn't show up. The reservation system for the restaurant tables is not clear to us. We couldn't sit at the tables we would like to sit at because it was reserved for some other rooms. I would understand for larger groups but blocking all the tables even for groups of three doesn't make any sense. It could be more flexible. Paying 20 euros for the first row of sunbeds even if they're all empty was a bit too much. I understand paying for the reservation but when they're all empty your customers should be able to use them without any extra costs. Closing the pool for a long time during midday didn't make any sense.
The sea and beach were things to mention. The staff was helpful and friendly. We had a great time at the hotel as a family. It was quiet and peaceful. Really rested well. The location was also nice if you want to go out of the hotel and explore towns and beaches closeby.

United KingdomWe found that for a hotel of this level maybe a couple of bottles of water per day would have been nice. Maybe also a bit more clarity upfront regarding the policy on reserving the ombrellone would have been nice.
