How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The price is on the high side.

It was clean and so close to the beach and train.
Manuel and Diego were the nicest individuals. They were both so helpful. We wish we had booked more than 3 nights.

It’s a family-run business and everyone went above and beyond to help us out and make sure we had a wonderful vacation! The parking was definitely a bonus as well as the delicious breakfast.

There was nothing I didn’t like about Hotel Punta Mesco.
The room was clean and comfortable. I was very excited when I saw the patio! I was so happy when they gave me my own key card (I am 9 years old)! The breakfast was delicious! In the lobby, there was a water jug, cups and candies for the guests,too!

I booked and paid extra for a room with a terrace but did not get one. I asked if I could get a credit for the extra but was told I should have booked with the hotel instead.
Location was great, no hills to climb! Room was comfortable but bath was a bit cramped. Breakfast was fine but didn't open till 8:00.

Perfect location within Monterosso … quiet, but a short walk to lots of good restaurants and the train station. Also not far to the old town and more restaurants and shops. Staff were really friendly and very helpful and we felt very welcome. Breakfast excellent; very clean, and as above perfect location for exploring all of the villages with the train line being so close.

Nowhere to lounge comfortably outside of room.

This is not a new hotel - getting close to being ready for an upgrade but it is like the pictures. Overall it was a great place to stay.
Great location, free parking which was amazing in this area. Breakfast very good and staff were friendly and helpful.

If I had to nit-pick, the room would be tight if you had more luggage than we did, and the bathroom only fits 1 person at a time to get ready. But this seems pretty normal for Mediterranean resort hotels at this price point.
Great family-run property with very friendly staff. It's not far from the train station and the beach and sea, but far enough away to be quieter. A market and laundry are within 200 meters. Breakfast is good and the restaurant they are friends with is excellent too.

I preferred a room with a view of the mountains which I didn't get despite several requests after I came to know from the staff that there are two categories of the rooms at the same price. I was told it was already booked. Not sure how that would happen as I do not remember having seen any such difference in room types when I booked.
Location is excellent - very close to the beach. Breakfast was fabulous - exceeded our expectation. As we left early in the morning, we didn't have the chance to enjoy hot breakfast one more time. Diego was nice enough to put some stuff in a bag for us as take away breakfast. No comment on parking as we didn't drive to this place.

Next time we pick a bigger room and second floor. We were on the first floor and the people above us were a bit noisy.
Location was amazing! Staff were superb. Manuel and Diego are super stars. They asked all questions we had and they were super friendly and amazing.

Hallways are a bit drab, but that is not really an issue. Very nice hotel overall.
Very nice front desk staff. Decent breakfast and I liked the room had a terrace.

We were in room 14 and there was a lot of noise repetitive banging from probably upstairs. Which may have been a bad luck guest and the big compressors from aircon were next door

Absolutely nothing to not like. I would definitely stay here again in a heartbeat!
What a beautiful place! The balcony with access through the window was amazing. Breakfast was awesome and staffs were very attentive and helpful.

The bed wasn’t the most comfortable, there was a big sinking spot in the mattress.
Great location close to the beach and train station. Couldn’t ask for a better spot! The hotel was clean and the staff was great. Overall enjoyed my stay
