How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Low, criss-crossing beams caused a few headaches. My shorter companion had no problems.

Verified reviewIdeally located to explore Alghero while being next to the beaches. Also good that we could park our car on the courtyard. Clean, basic facilities all there. Plenty of restaurants & bars in walking distance. The beach across the street. We stayed for one night.
Stairs … to go up to the apartments & to enter the apartment The apartment was big enough but not fit for tall people when you have an apartment under the roof.

Verified reviewThe apartment was very big, clean and comfortable. Checking was possible while the restaurant was open (from 6pm) and everything apartment related was handeled by the restaurant staff. Parking was secured in their private parking lot, the reservation had to be made in the restaurant for 7€/day. The gate was closed for night, so we didnt have to worry about the car. City center was only 10 min walk on the promenade.

Verified reviewConveniently located, about 15/20min from old town. Nice view of the Port,private parking restaurant. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly.
The lady housekeeper. Came before I was just about to leave having my luggage at the door. She was very rude , pressing the door bell furiously many times. I was leaving earlier than check upt time so it was completely unnecessary, and even though she saw me with the luggage at the door she kept shouting : leave now , I'm here to clean ! Very unpleasant woman.

Verified reviewGreat location facing the beautiful beach and only a short walk into the old town. Lovely restaurant attached to the property where people staying at Quarté Sayál get a small discount. The staff were so helpful and friendly we really appreciated that. There was also a communal area to sit and relax during the day, very useful when hot. Bus stops close by and the office of Biking Sardinia was in the grounds - we would highly recommend hiring bikes.

Verified reviewThe gentleman at check-in was wonderful (I didn't get his name!) but he was so friendly and helpful. He even gave some suggestions for breakfast and helped with parking so we could get settled more quickly. The "attic" was very clean and surprisingly quiet. just a mile from "old town" too! We all slept well.
Not sure what the little kitchenette upcharge was about - we weren't sure if we could even rinse out our water bottles or put anything in the little refrigerator.

The air conditioning did not work properly and the bedroom was so hot as it was 30 degrees throughout our stay. Me and my partner did not sleep the whole stay. There was an old cigarette butt on the window sill so it didn’t feel clean.

We have checked the Air conditioning immediately after we have read your comment and we can confirm you that the Air conditioning system of the apartment you have booked, it is working perfectly. We suppose that you have wrongly choose the heating mode, instead of the air conditioning mode. The staff at the restaurant and the bar are always at disposal to the apartments guests, for every need, you should have asked us why the air con was not working, we could have assist you immediately. During your stay you also had dinner in our Restaurant, in that occasion you should have told us so we could have taken action immediately. Verified reviewNot only that was extremely comfortable and had the pleasure of a wonderful sunset, the hosts were so nice and helpful with a reservation at the restaurant within an hour. We only were sorry that we couldn’t spend more time to enjoy the comfy beds, to try more of the restaurant menu and enjoy Alghero sunsets. And on a more practical note, the parking is great and the nearby gas station perfect for early mornings before heading for the airport for the car rental drop-off ;) Thank you!!!

Bathrooms weren’t great (one was very small, the other had mould in the grout and there was no way of hanging the shower head), some traffic noise at night, wooden beams protruded so we hit our heads, and facilities could be improved (ironing board but no iron, kitchenette costs extra etc.)
