The views were breathtaking through the balcony, which was really good size, however the rooms were on a small size, there was summer bedding provided for a cold autumn season which was surprising, this meant that it was really cold to sleep. There was only one towel per person provided for the whole three nights so highly disappointing, what made it worse that there was no heating so although the washing machine was there was no way to dry the towels, which meant that we had to use dirty towels throughout the stay. There was no heating in property for the first two days and the local team did not respond to any emails asking for help. On the last evening we have totally lost the electricity which meant that we couldn’t finish packing properly and we couldn’t charge sufficiently our phones or power banks which meant that we ended being really stressed on the morning of departure, with no light no breakfast we were using our phone torches to see where everything was and we were packing in a state of panic and shock, which also resulted in us leaving few belongings at the property. Despite us reaching out to the local team no one came to check how we settled in on arrival if we needed anything to show us how to turn on the heating etc it was unpleasant stay although the flat is new built. Finding an entrance to the flat was also a challenge as entrance was through the garage door so it took us a while to figure out how to enter the property itself. Getting around was also very challenging as most taxis from main Como town were not taking passengers to this village, and when we found a taxi that did, we ended paying 80 euros one way, given that the local bus and ferry services are not over reliable this would have been helpful to know in the property’s descriptions. The property was also advertised with access to the pool; however, the pool was closed, and it was one of the main reasons we have selected this property.

We had to travel further afield for fresh vegetables and meats. We found a Carrefour in San Fedele and took the bus there, which was a pleasant ride into the hills. You can buy tickets at the shop. We also tried to find the market in Tremezzo which is allegedly on Thursdays but unfortunately it didn't seem to be happening, but Tremezzo is a good place to visit nonetheless. It was all do-able without a car but you could see why people choose to drive to get to shops and do day trips. But the road along the lake side was pretty busy and I wouldn't try and drive it myself. There was a steep 10 mins walk down to the town from the accommodation, but it was worth it for the tremendous view across the lake and being some distance from the main road I loved watching the hydro foils coming and going. In the apartment the WiFi came and went and we couldn't easily make the tv work but we got there in the end, and the company sent out a guy to help us who was very nice. The power went off during the storm but we could reset the trip switches no problem.

Amazing views over the lake from the lovely balcony. Comfortable apartment for a family of four. I enjoyed watching the ferries coming and going at the ferry dock below. My husband enjoyed the starlings sweeping over the buildings and the pool in the evenings. The kids enjoyed the smart TV, the pool, and swimming in the lake. We watched two enormous storms over the mountains including a squall which visibly moved in across the lake. Argegno is in an excellent location on the lake for ferries to other destinations (we visited Tremezzo and Bellagio and Como) and also with a regular bus service up the lakeside. There's also a cable car up the mountain to Pigra with a walk to a scenic viewpoint. Bars and restaurants in Argegno were excellent. They catered for all of us including my picky 11 year old. There are just two small grocery shops with the basics, which close 1200-1600, and a market with fresh food and cheese and meat on a Monday. The other apartments in the block were mostly empty and it felt at times like we were were the only people there. The children often had the pool to themselves completely and I could keep an eye on them from the balcony above. An amazing local taxi driver, Elena, took us to Como station at short notice on our last day, making our journey and transfer super easy.
