Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomA little bit too far to walk to the centre of Florence so would need a car or to get taxis unless you like walking
Beautiful palazzo, felt like stepping back in time! Lovely and quiet away from the bustle of Florence, but just a short drive into the centre. Lovely pool and gardens too. Lovely cot for a baby

SwitzerlandIt's already been noted by countless others, but it's a steep hill! Keep in mind if you're planning on visiting Florence on foot that you'll have to walk back up at the end of the day!
Huge room, historical building, great breakfast, private parking and a swimming pool. What's not to like?

United KingdomPerhaps a bit far to walk in the evening if you wanted to walk back from centre.
As soon as I arrived it was everything I hoped for. Stunning property felt rural even though just out of city.

United KingdomThe breakfast wasn’t amazing - i was traveling with a hungry teenage boy! better lighting / furniture to relax inside if raining ( I thinkSome rooms have this in the room ) . Lots of lovely space but too dark to read !
The location - out of town but if you like quiet and being able to walk into the city then this is perfect The pool and shady garden was amazing to have access to - I could have spent days there dipping into the city for lovely things then back to relax The staff were very welcoming and helpful

United KingdomThink that parking should be included in the price to be honest ! Also the walk up the hill was fine for us after a day in the city , or supper out , but for some people this would be difficult . My elderly parents would not have been able to manage , but I believe there is a bus or taxi .
Very spacious , beautiful views , stunning rooms . Pool very welcome after a day in the city .

ItalyPaying extra for on site parking.
We were there 9 years ago when they just opened and this is our second time there. What we love most, apart from the stunning room with trompe l’œil decorations,is that we were within walking distance from the centre of Florence away from the noise of the tourist hustle and bustle with the added benefit of the chance to walk off any calories from dinner!

SpainThe location is good by car or possibly to know better the public transport. In the booklet it still said that there was a shuttle, but it seems that it was old information and they did not have that service anymore. However during weekdays there’s a very convenient small public bus that it’s really fast and easy to use.
Everything. The building itself and its history. The decoration, service and staff, comfort in bedding, views, outdoors areas and options for room service. Brilliant staff, communicative and knowledgeable. Great booklet with recommendations and useful info.

NetherlandsIf anything, the mini fridge was loud, but it didn’t negatively affect our stay.
We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful residence in Florence! The property is beautifully preserved and retains the charming, traditional Tuscan style. Everything was spotless, and the staff were incredibly kind and attentive. The view from our window was stunning, and the whole place was peaceful and quiet - a prefect retreat after exploring the city. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience authentic Tuscany in comfort!

United StatesThe hotel sits up a large hill, so if walking is a challenge and you can't afford a taxi into town, I would not recommend it. The hotel sits outside of downtown Florence, which was a double edged sword. We got the quiet and beautiful view, however, as first time visitors, it did end up being quite a bit of travel for us.
Our room was so nice and spacious with a beautiful view. I loved the extra common areas with things to do. The hotel itself holds a lot of history, which was really fun to learn about. Everything was very clean and breakfast was delicious.

CanadaWalking home up a steep hill. The yin and yang of a beautiful location.
The property is beautiful. The history is so interesting. The staff has intelligent suggestions. The location is just out of town up the hill to serenity. Everything you would want from Tuscany. Plus a country brewery 6 minutes away. Shangri-la.

United KingdomIt was difficult to get to from central- not far geographically but difficult to walk because it was up a very steep, long incline.

NetherlandsThe location is not ideal for someone who cannot walk a long road up the hill - in that case, taking a taxi might be a good idea. The poolside might benefit from some renovation. The breakfast can be improved - it is a bit repetitive if you stay long.
That was our second time in this hotel. We stayed in the same room as five years ago and still liked it! The villa is beautiful, the garden is cosy, the room is spacious and clean, and the bed is huge and comfy. The hotel is very peaceful and quiet. The location is excellent - it is not super touristy but is walkable to the city centre (or you can take a bus instead). You can park your car in the hotel's gated parking, which is quite convenient.

United StatesWe had a car. It is up a long hill outside of the Roman portico in Florence . It is not convenient to get to on foot. You need to take a cab probably of late at night .
The property was exquisite. The room was gorgeous . It was like stepping into the movie room with a view. The garden and pool were perfect to cool down from the sweltering heat of summertime Florence. After a long, hot day in Florence it was the perfect respite . Next time I would spend a whole day or two only at the hotel and have Florence be the side show. Our room had a bathtub in the second bedroom which was an amazing addition to the room.
