How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe host (Davide) was really communicative and nice. His respondings to my e-mail questions were really fast (advantage). Firstly we booked an apartment with shared toilet by mistake but thanks to Davide's fast respondings we made a deal to switch to personal room with personal toilet (paid the difference of the price of course). It is worth for money that you're paying because the location is good (it's around 15-20 minutes to Colosseo), the metro station which takes you to Vaticano is 5 minutes walking from this place and also there is a bus station 3 minutes walking. A lot of small shops and restaurants around the apartment too.
You should bring your own hair dryer which was minus for us and you'll need few extra towels if you are staying more days like we did (5 nights) so keep this in your mind. Equipment of the room should be better.
We cannot change towels like in a real hotel Is true ( but also price is very different), about hairdryer Is more simple..just ask..it was not a problem to provide One...

Verified reviewThe location was perfect, really close to tram stop and close to centre. Easy to walk from main train station.
Room didn't have any window, there was a moisture in whole room and nobody changed our towels during 4 night stay. The room was too expensive for what it offered. Overpriced.
Guesthouse is not located near the center, but " in the center " and obviously there is a window in the room (at least you could have invented something more credible). The price is absolutely adequate for the location, the reality is that you cannot afford to stay in a real hotel (in our area, 10 minutes walking from the Colosseum, the price is at least triple of what you paid) but you expected the same service (change of towels, etc.) at a much lower price... I Also would like to have a Ferrari by paying the price of a Twingo, but unfortunately it's not possible...

Verified reviewThe hoist was nice and helpful. Gave us towels and booked the sirport taxi for us. Supermarket near by. Collosseum 20 minutes walk.
The kitchen area. No kettle, for your morning coffee. We took our travel kettle. Kitchen needs a total overhaul. Our Room seemed clean,. but needed redecorating. Beds not that comfortable.. I did not check mattress. But you pay for what you get.
In description Is not indicate kitchen , so you are complaning something not included ( 🤔🤔) , about room decoration, to have beauty and decorate room we raccomend to reserve real hotel next time ( at triple of price payed in our area , 10 minutes walking to Colosseo )

Verified reviewNear the metro We had trouble with the payment and the staff were very good with helping us Staff gave us a very good rundown of thenplaces to visit, streep tips, were to eat, and were to go Cool turtle
Shared bathroom The kitchen had no utensils and wasn't that clean It felt like the bedroom, pillows, and the other bed weren't really thay clean Breakfast was at a café, the problem was that it was only a croissant+a a cup of milk/coffee, very little to eat When showering, water would get everywhere, very difficult to adjust the temperature
In the room description it is not indicated anywhere that we have a kitchen, so you just had to thank us for having "something not included" instead of criticizing, breakfast (as indicated on the page) is Italian , cappuccino and croissant, then if not do you know how to use a shower, we are sorry, if we had known we would have taught you how to do it, the only thing we regret is having granted you a late check in for less than half the price indicated on the page, we would have had to leave you without the room, It was a mistake we won't repeat...

Verified reviewWe liked the location - very close to the center of Rome. The bed was comfortable and the staff let us check in at 11 am to leave our bags and explore Rome a couple of hours more without a heavy bag. Not much noise during the night due to the location.
It was expensive. The shower stopped after a few minutes. They could have given us a towel to dry our hands after washing them.
Expensive?? You was not near city center , you was " in city center " 10 minutes walking from Colosseo , next time you can reserve Just 2 beds in dormitory in our area there are a lot of hostel , we are a guestHouse so we have Just private rooms ...

Verified reviewThe location is perfect really close to Rome. Like no trouble getting in and out of Rome. The owner was so nice and helpful.
Toilet was really dirty. The shower head was broken. The bathroom really let the property down. I checked out before 10am so was not charged for a late checkout. The feedback that owner has given is deceptive and bathroom really needs to be worked on.
When you book a room with a shared bathroom it's obvious that other people use it, maybe instead of "saving Money" you could have booked the private bathroom?!! ps. however the bathroom was always a disaster after you used it,you had zero respect for other guests ..

Verified reviewLocation is really good. It is 15 minutes to the Colleseum.
First of all, thee room did not have a window so there was no fresh air and sunlight. There were no slippers. We had to use our shoes/socks. The flat was not clean anymore. The bathroom was so old. They did not give shampoo, soaps. Thanks god, they gave towel 😂 In totally the only good think for this place is location. Other facilities was terrible.
This fake review was written only for revenge, check out is at 10.30am and it is good manners to respect this time in respect of subsequent guests, when this does not happen there is a fee to pay, this is the truth reason that let them to write all these "untrue" things..

Verified reviewIts really close to everything, the owner is also very nice and helpful. You get a free map and some decent recommendations.
Two thing that would make this property 8 or a 9 out of 10 - a lot more lights, and I mean a lot, it was very gloomy and rather depressing. A small bar of soap per customer and some shampoo as well, little things, would pay a bit extra for that. But the lights are a major problem, the whole solution would cost like 50eur max.
Problem Is light !!! are you serious ?? never Heard something so ridicolus. Anyway ..i'm glad now you are in your house, where surely you will have a lighting system so powerful as to cover your entire block with light, greetings from the deep darkness of rome ..
