How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe AC was great, very spacious room and not bad location. The selection of teas was great and kettle in the foyer was handy. Apart from the occasional dog barking, it was very peaceful and we couldn’t hear the neighbours
Instructions on how to get into the property were not clear and it was difficult to find. Luckily we saw a neighbour who helped us but we would have struggled without them. The fridge in the bedroom was quite loud and made it difficult to sleep. The lights didn’t work and the curtains let a lot of light in. The shower didn’t drain very well and the water pressure was very high and the temperature fluctuated which made for an uncomfortable shower. We were given no hand soap and it wasn’t topped up by the cleaner.

Verified reviewWe had a good stay at Residenza Principe: bed and pillows were amazingly comfortable and it was a plus to find AC in the room; many towels were provided and at the entrance there was also coffee and tea for the guests.
Bathroom was very noisy (and AC too).

Verified reviewWhat STAFF no one here, what BREAKFAST? non existent NOT a cup or saucer or teaspoon available although the teabags were in place. Bottles of water only . + side, the bed and shower were fine and it was clean.
A proper SIGN on the outside front door with the NAME of the residence , I bought a map across the road the first days stay, which DETAILED the location perfectly, can you not incorporate that map segment in a photo? It was only by asking some locals across the road who pointed out the "120" that I stumbled across the entrance. And then I couldn't get in , you said you were going to send a video, which you did the FOLLOWING DAY ! . Luckily a resident came along and the same with the next locked door ,pure luck . When I left I had to ask you how to open the door without the key . BASIC INFORMATION. I SUGGEST YOU PIN A BIG MAP TO THE WALL .4EUROS ACROSS THE ROAD, A PHOTO OF THE OUTSIDE SO PEOPLE KNOW WHAT TO LOOK FOR !!!!! . Lots of stairs, again a detail not mentioned.

Verified reviewThe rooms are just as in the pictures. Very comfortable beds, and they offered us some biscuits and free water every morning. Close to a metro station, and a walkable distance (15-20 min) walk to the best pizzerias in naples!
Our room was a little cold, and there was not always hot water in the shower :( There are some stairs to arrive to the apartment, so consider that if you travel with big luggage or if you travel with someone with difficulty to walk.

Verified reviewWe enjoy our stay in the residenza Principe di Carafa. It's special to be lodged in a palazzo. Really clean and there is a cleaning service that pass everyday. Nice room with a small balcony that allows us to taste Neapolitan life. Even we could do our laundry and hang clothes in the balcony
A bit a misscomunication in the beginning with the staff. We didn't see some messages and took us time to guess how get inside the appartment. Happy that there was a kitchen but the lack of utensils made that you couldn't take advantage 9f it. Just one knife and no pans. We could perfectly listen the neighbours upstairs.

Verified reviewNothing, really.
False advertising the facilities. Noisy, very few facilities, no direction on the B&B; unsure whether it existed. Was as if you had a child try to run a “hotel”. No toilet paper, no kitchen roll, no robes. Complained and got downgraded to an even worse room that was absolutely pathetic.
We need to remain professional and accept criticism, but this is too much, we never respond to anyone precisely because everyone is free to judge our work, but we don't accept this review. The customer in question complained about not feeling well for 11 days and we were promptly there to continuously contact him and understand how we could help him. But when we met up close he didn't have anything, he complained about the slightest noise which can be tolerated at 5 in the afternoon. Not to mention the cleaning, we had to call a specialized company to clean the mess that was left, (he never wanted to have his room cleaned) there was even food on the floor and near the walls. Truly a person to avoid

Verified review.
Firstly it was a B&B and not a hotel. The location is not easily accessible. Finding a decent restaurant nearby was difficult. There is no reception or anyone for assistance. The owner was available in watsap messages. But noone else available for assisting. No single staff. Lot of disturbance from other rooms, we were not able to sleep the whole night. Wouldnt recommend for stay. The images shared on the booking.com are nowhere near reality.

Verified reviewI could not access the building. I tried the door and the code on the keypad and could not get in. The neighborhood was dirty and sketchy - trash everywhere, overflowing bins, numerous homeless people. Did not feel safe as a woman traveling alone.
