How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThis place is a beautifully preserved old Tuscan building with rustic charm, surrounded by vineyards and serene nature. I stayed in two different rooms due to timing, both rooms were cozy, well maintained, spotless, and perfectly sized for a solo traveler. One had direct backyard access to the parking spot, super convenient. Too bad the pool was closed due to seasonal timing and rainy weather. Giuseppe, the host, was friendly and attentive. I would recommend this place overall. You will get a bottle of wine as a welcome gift :)

Verified reviewAmazing architectural history. The room was beautiful and the upstairs room was part of a medieval tower from around 1020 AD I believe. Giovanni and his wife Anna were lovely hosts - they even provided us with a bottle of their own made wine. The pool is glorious and the location really makes you feel in rural southern Tuscany yet is very accessible to nearby communities including Florence. Amazing value for the money
Cars come really fast through the narrow street right along the house

Verified reviewIt provides a relaxing environment in a quiet rural area. Restaurants, grocery stores and towns for sightseeing are short drives away. We cooked many of our meals and had everything we needed to do so. The property has a nice pool.

Verified reviewThe property is on the top of the hill with grapevine and olives. The house is gorgeous and it’s like a museum with beautiful old and good taste stuff. We felt amazing. The garden is very big and the pool looked amazing though we didn’t have time to try it. Many tables and sunbeds in wich you can enjoy a glass of the most tasteful wine in the entire world. The view is like a postcard 360 . Giovanni was very responsive and kind. He explained everything about the house and was very helpful. Strongly recommend and for sure we will be back someday!

Verified reviewThe apartment I stayed in had kitchen facilities and it was simply a matter of strolling along a country lane for 10 mins to buy supplies from the local bottega. Best coffee in Italy from the lovely owners of the bottega, along with an exquisite view of Tuscany from their back deck . My room at the farmhouse had three different views and plenty of room for a family . Giovanni and Anna were very nice hosts .

Verified reviewThe heating was an extra cost and we didn't know how to work it, though we should have just asked the host who was very helpful.

Verified reviewReally great pleace in the middle of Tuscany. Best as base for short trips: Florence, Siena, Piza or even Pienza or whole Chianti region. Charming greeting from Giovanni (owner), with detailed list of suggessted places to visit in nearest area, restaurants ready to feed you, and many other useful informations. Fully equipped kitchen, and the best of the best: top of 3 levels in our apartment with view around on hills with vineyards and olive trees. Clean pool with a lot of space for everyone is an additional bonus. Sleeping in XIV century tower has it own historical value. Thank you Giovanni!
Weather could be better ;)

Verified reviewGiovanni was an exceptional host and was very good at communicating in advance of the stay and during the stay. He even gave us a bottle of his homemade wine which we enjoyed. The room had everything you needed including a fridge, kettle and aircon unit. The pool was big and great to swim in, with plenty of sunloungers to use. We enjoyed dinner at a local restaurant. You need a car to stay here. You are surrounded by nature.
It was sometimes noisy in the bedroom as the cars drive fast past the house. Our room was on the second floor, road side.

Verified reviewGreat location, room was extremely clean. Owner was fantastic and had good wines and olive. It was a nice place to relax. Good restaurant nearby. Good parking place.
No wifi at the pool, no cell phone coverage almost on entire property (have tried three different networks). That's why wifi should cover the pool area.

Verified reviewEverything was great, the room was clean. The object is in quiet place, it has everything to relax. There is also a garden. The object has apartments (with kitchen) and only rooms (without kitchen, but with fridge and electric kettle) so pay attention to this while booking your place if you are planing to cook meals. The village (Marcialla) has two restaurants and in July there is local celebration and every night there are some musicians and some street food. Nearby villages have train and bus station which are great to have a daily trip to Siena and Florence. The only bad thing is that we didnt have cellphone signal, it was very bad, but the object has free wifi.

Verified reviewgreat location, close to Florence, Siena, Certaldo, San Gimignano in the heart of Chianti, less then 1.5h from Bologna airport. Kids had a lot of fun in the pool. Very helpful owners, we were welcomed with wine and delicious Tiramisu. Nice kitchen and garden. The house itself has perfect “old Italian” style.
House is very close to the street - however for us it wasn’t a problem.
