Chill location, staff good, room also good

It's too far from the city center but it's ok.

Twin room was spacious, as well as the bathroom. It also has air conditioning, which is super important if you're staying during the summer. Cleanliness was top notch. Each day dirty towels would get replaced, beds made and bathroom cleaned. The hostel is only 5 minutes away from Bologna metro station which is only a few stations away from the Colosseum and the city center. 3 stations away from Termini. You can also reach the Vatican/Olimpic Stadium by direct bus lines. The neighbourhood, Tiburtina, is lively and pleasant with plenty of food and cafe options. 2 minutes away by foot you can also reach Lidl for any other necessities. This hostel is worked great for me and a friend who were mostly out and about from the morning until evening, without partying and late nights. There were no loud groups or individuals, everyone seemed respectful and calm.

Even though the room was big, there were no closets or any other storage units except one drawer under each bed and a hanging rack, which was inconvenient at times. The shower floor wasn't sloped enough for the water to flow back in the drain, so one has to be a bit more careful when showering not to cause flooding in the bathroom. The soap dispenser was also a bit annoying. Even though your bathroom is in your own room, hot water supply is still connected to other bathrooms, so be wary about taking a shower while a bunch of other people are doing it as well in the big communal bathrooms. The position of the room windows is such that the residents of the neighbouring building(s) can see into the room, so be aware of that. This hostel might not be for you if you want to meet new people, hang out etc., it simply doesn't have the facilities to do so like some hostels have - big terraces, "bar area" or similar where people can gather and chitchat while having some beer.

I stayed here for what was supposed to be 2 nights, but I ended up leaving after just 1. From the start, the woman at reception (on the evening of Aug 1st) was soooo unfriendly. She quoted me a price higher than what I saw on Booking.com. I told her I didn’t have enough on Revolut because I expected the walk-in price to be lower than online - it wasn’t. In the end, I paid through Booking (was cheaper). When I got to my room, the bed sheets hadn’t even been changed from the last guest. I had to go ask for new ones, and guess what - I had to make the bed myself! She also forgot to give me a duvet cover. I had to go down again with all the used sheets in my arms, just to ask. They didn’t apologize even once. In the morning, the women’s bathroom was used by men too - I went to shower and a guy walked in to shower as well. On top of that, the usual friendly hostel vibe was totally missing. Staff made me feel like I was bothering them. I left a day early and gave up the rest of the money. I wouldn’t recommend this place. I get that mistakes happen, but a simple “Sorry” goes a long way. In my case, after seeing that the price at reception was higher than on Booking, I still apologized and paid through Booking, even though I didn’t do anything wrong. Bottom line: I like arriving to a clean bed - that’s what I’m paying for. Not coming back.

I booked this hostel while I was already on the way, thankfully check-in went smoothly. The bunk beds were big and the room itself has plenty of space to share with 3 other guests.

The towel rental could be cheaper. Other than that, my stay was good.
