The wifi in the room was not working half of the time.

The room was wonderful, the design, the spaces, comfortability, all. The location of the hotel is super central, and you are close to plenty of restaurants. Breakfast was outstanding, all the food was fresh, and the service was amazing.

I stayed at Sant'Angelo Hotel for one night and I wouldn’t choose any other place for my stay in Matera! The hotel is located right in the heart of the old town, and from the moment I arrived, I felt completely immersed in the history of the city. The staff is incredibly welcoming and caring, always ready to help and ensure you have a pleasant stay. When we arrived, the driver Francesco was already waiting for us at the parking lot, ready to accompany us to the hotel. The first treat my partner and I received was a detailed explanation of the city map, which gave us a great first impression of Matera, along with a refreshing welcome drink. After that, they personally accompanied us to our room through a short walk, which made us feel truly special. We slept in a cave room with a private patio: an unforgettable experience that really made us feel connected to the past. I’m already looking forward to coming back and trying the experience of staying in a room with a view! Highly recommended!

Great location in the heart of the Sassi. Very welcoming, helpful and friendly staff. Caterina helped us with parking and other questions we had before arriving and greeted us so kindly when we arrived. She’s a gem and a real asset to the hotel!

Just be aware that you need to park outside the Sassi. We were prepared and easily parked in the recommended car park and because we only travel with carry on were happy to walk the 15 min to the hotel rather than having to liaise re organising the hotel transport which you would need to do if you have larger luggage - recommend travel light.

Very scenic and convenient location for a short stay in fascinating Matera. Well appointed room, breakfast good ( although would have liked it outside) and dinner on the terrace in the evening enjoyable and highly recommended. Friendly and helpful hotel staff.

The room was not as luxurious as we had hoped given what we paid and the fact this was a 5* hotel. The rooms were hot at night and the aircon did not work very well.

Incredible location perched on the side of the hill overlooking beautiful Matera. Very friendly and helpful staff. Amazing restaurant with beautiful views over the town, great for sunset!

We traveled in mid-May, the only issue we had was that the cave room was warm and the hotel has not turned the air conditioning on. This made the room humid and difficult to sleep. We like a cool room when sleeping. The hotel did offer a fan.
