How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewStaff is amazing. They do their best to make you feel welcome and comfortable. Special thanks to Barbara and Gabriele from the restaurant. Food was restaurant quality Italian food with great variety. Vast selection of wines as well. Two beaches nearby. 5-10 minutes walk. Very pleasant walk if you enjoy wild little paths in the nature, smelling the earth and flora. Some say the hotel needs re-decoration a bit but personally I liked the slightly nostalgic vibe. After all both my room and all areas were spotlessly clean and functional. There was something naive and unpretentious about the hotel that reminded me of the past in a pleasant way.
The beach club is under algae invasion. You literally can’t go into the water past the algae. So I would appreciate if they let me know in advance. Or at least they could do a discount which they didn't. Eventually I didn't care much and I went to the other beaches. But if you have to have your cocktail, sunbed and umbrella, the algae one will be your only choice. The other ones are just wild beaches with no showers, toilets etc. Wi-Fi is quite problematic. Unfortunately even switching to your personal hotspot doesn't change much because in general the coverage is not brilliant in the area. Water policy was also disappointing for me because I don't like tap water. The only option they sell in the hotel is 0.5 L bottles for €3 each, which is quite unfair. In a hotel like this at least you expect them to sell 1.5 L bottles for a reasonable price but they don't. You need to walk to the supermarket and carry your water back to your room. It takes about 10-15 minutes. I was there in May so the weather was very pleasant but honestly I can't imagine carrying liters of water back to my room in July and August. It seems many families with young kids prefer the hotel so I assume that the facilities must be convenient and appealing for them. But honestly all three meals, everyday, felt like trying to grab a bite in a nursery school with lots of kids screaming around. If you want to enjoy your dinner and wine peacefully, definitely pack a pair of noise cancellation headphones. As well the sound insulation is not very good in the rooms either. The bungalows are adjacent and you keep hearing your neighbours, especially if they're on the patio. Like if they're having a call on their patio you wouldn't hear them better if they were sitting on your bed.

The presence of Posidonia oceanica is a natural phenomenon, much like rain or wind: it can occur at certain times of the year, and unfortunately, it is neither predictable nor manageable in an arbitrary way. We understand that this situation might not align with the traditional idea of a serviced beach for some guests, but it’s important to remember that the presence of Posidonia is actually a sign of clean, unspoiled sea water. As for our rates, we would like to highlight that they are in line with the services offered and with the standards of the Blu Hotels chain, which manages over 30 properties across Italy. Verified reviewThe food, especially dinner, was excellent. A variety of main course options - to include 3 different pasta options per evening - and plenty of healthy options. (Meat, fish, some veggies are prepared on an outside grill.) They provide a great variety of dessert options, too. There was also plenty of staff to serve, etc. I thought it was very professional and apart from the beach, the best thing. Per the beach: there is a private corner, with its own bar. The beach is really incredible and there is a lifeguard present. Some staff come out to teach a half-hour of water aerobics and will motivate you to play Bocce ball with other guests (really fun.) Pro-tip to save money: There are busses from the port-side Cagliari bus station (near Via Roma) that go directly to Sant'Elmo for 4.90 Euros. So you don't need a car.
Do NOT accept a room that has the adjoining room option (i.e. an internal door to the next room). These doors are EXTREMELY thin and you can hear your neighbor's TV, their fights with their spouses, yawning, coughing, etc. While the bed was comfortable enough, I found sleeping pretty miserable and it detracted from my overall trip/stay. Even a neighbor that sleeps with the TV on low can be problematic.

Some of the staff members were sleeping in the rooms below us and they were partying until late at night making a lot of noise and disrupting our sleep.

The family room was very small for 4 people by comparison to a double room and very basic. Shower broke twice. Paying for drinking water every day was costly, is only free at breakfast.

Verified reviewWe loved staying here! The staff were always friendly, helpful and courteous. The grounds with its beautiful native flowering bushes and green lawns and charming cottages were peaceful and relaxing. The nearby long white sand beach in a sheltered cove could not have been nicer. The water is crystal clear and great for swimming and playing. The quality, taste and variety of foods prepared for meals was like eating at a 5-star Italian restaurant.
