Ridiculous that you need to pay on top for using the swimming pool. Spa area I understand, but the pool? Sound absurd for 5star hotel

When we were in spa we felt like we were in a concrete back alley with all the neighbourhood apartments balconies looking down on us. Would be nice to put some plants around and create a little oasis. Some towels to use for the spa would of been helpful. Shower had a slight drainage problem, so was standing in water.

Shower door did not seal so the bathroom ended up a big puddle. Wet feet from first shower to when we left, Table behind the bed, meant you could not prop your pillows up to sit in bed.

Very welcoming staff, excellent location close to train and beach. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we were given an upgrade for two nights to a large room with a view, much appreciated. Comfortable beds. Excellent breakfast, and a pleasant courtyard for an evening drink and meal.

The hotel was located a short walk from the train station and waterfront. There were lots of restaurants, shops and bars within walking distance. It was also close to the ferry stop. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They made us feel very welcome and went out of their way to answer our questions and offer us support. The room was in a separate building behind the hotel. It was very clean and comfortable. The size was good. There was lots of storage space as well as a seating area. Breakfast is offered at the property and there is a nice outdoor lounge/restaurant which offers dinners. I would stay here again and recommend it further.

Great location - about one and a half blocks from waterfront flat walk and 4 mins walk from station. Its an uphill walk to the station though ! Nice staff very helpful.

This review applies to the room in their separated building. It seems that all the rooms there are on the first floor, no view, and pretty small (basically "bed + 1m around it) Our shower was leaking quite badly, even when one was really careful with directing the stream of water A/C and heating is quite noisy, and the outlet is right next to the bed. Fortunately we didn't need it, but I can imagine that it may create some unwanted draft

It appears that the hotel has been extended, and we were housed in the new section, which was up the side alley next to the hotel. We were a bit surprised, after checking in, to be led back outside and around the back. So the photos showing the front of a period hotel represents reception, and not where you may end up being lodged.

Our room was comfortable and felt very new. The hotel was really well located close to the train station, which was a gentle downhill walk in (but a more challenging walk back), but no more than 10 minutes either way. Well located to explore Santa Margherita, with a short walk to the foreshore, and restaurants. The front of the hotel had a quiet beer garden, with reasonably priced drinks and good complimentary snacks. And whatever the complimentary lollies were at the reception counter, they were elite!
