How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe staff and owner were really friendly, the pool was fantastic. The place was spotlessly cleaned every day by the cleaners. They also kindly let us use the pool after checkout.

We only had an issue with bathroom door which slid into the wall. It was flush with the frame and so you could not grab it

To open it, there is a small recessed notch (called a “nottolino”) on the edge of the door that allows you to pull it out easily. Verified reviewThis is a modern villa with three rooms to rent on the basement flow. Extremely clean and well decorated. Accommodated an earlier check in and picked me up from the train station. Also dropped me back to the station when I checked out which was greatly appreciated. Communication was great throughout. Has a shared lounge area and kitchen with coffee maker. Absolutely beautiful pool area. Very peaceful and just one block from the beach in a private gated road in the beach area of Isola delle Femmine. It’s about 20-30 minutes walk to the town from there but you have restaurants, cafes and some small shops close by to the apartment for supplies. Rooms are beautifully decorated and everything is immaculately clean. I personally prefer lots of natural light which my room did not have, with the light needing to be on even in the daytime to see things properly. It feels as though style has been prioritised over functionality within the rooms an example of this being absolutely nowhere to hang a towel on the bathroom and very little drawer space available. Bit overall a lovely and relaxing stay in peaceful surroundings.
I prefer a room with natural light which mine did not have. Rooms also lacked a few basics mentioned above.

Surprised by the 20 euro surcharge for late check in.
Hi Paul, as you may have noticed, we are a very small guesthouse with only three rooms, and we do not operate a 24-hour reception. This means that late arrivals require special arrangements and the presence of staff outside regular working hours. The €20 late check-in fee helps us cover the additional costs involved in ensuring someone is available to welcome you late at night. This policy is clearly stated in the FAQs and on our booking.com listing, and we also informed you about it in advance via WhatsApp during the planning of your arrival. We waited for your arrival from 9:00 PM until 12:15 AM to make sure you were properly welcomed. We truly value our guests, and we are always working to improve. Thank you for your feedback.

Verified reviewI had amazing 2 days at this place! My room was cozy, bathroom brand new and modern, swimming pool area is well maintained and has a beautiful palm trees. Hosts make me feel home and were incredibly kind and helpful, thank you guys! The location is perfect point to discover this part of Island with the car and parking is safe.

Verified reviewThe villa is very clean and modern and close to the beach but still calm, the hosts are very friendly and helpful. Elisa even fetched us from the train station which we really appreciated! Snacks, coffee, drinks, umbrella and chairs for the beach were provided.
The only minor thing would be no shelf space in our bathroom to leave our toiletries there. But other than that the Villa is perfect.

Verified reviewMy husband and I had a wonderful time at Villa Seven Palms. It was just what we needed for our holiday combining relaxation and exploration. Being so close to the beach and having non-stop access to the beautiful and quiet swimming pool area was a huge advantage. The property was also very clean, recently refurbished, tastefully decorated, and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The owner, Emanuele, was very helpful and responsive, and so were his small team. I highly recommend Villa Seven Palms for an unforgettable holiday in a convenient location in Sicily.

The coastline of Isola delle femmine is not the most beautiful, some pieces yes but other parts are not maintained well.
