How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewI liked the apartment a lot. It was clean, cozy and I especially liked that the interior is very modern but still matches the esthetics of the city. The view is obviously amazing, I enjoyed looking out of the window in the late evening, after long day of city exploration.

Verified reviewLocation was great. Really good restaurants right outside the door of the apartment. Really good access to the metro and buses. We bused and used metro for pretty much everything.
Stay was really good. For the length we stayed it might have been nice to get a fresh set after a few days. We didn’t also I am assuming it wouldn’t have been an issue. Access to a broom or vacuum just to sweep up a little after walking the streets.

Verified reviewTop location - Vatican is at your doorstep! At the same time, it's a quiet place, no traffic, no noisy crowds. Nice brand new kitchen with all equipment and utensils, my favorite place in the apartment) Good sized room for a solo traveler. Comfortable bed, choice of pillows. New bathroom with hair dryer, soap and shower gel. Camilla is a good host, and in case of a problem, solves it very fast. Also, she left some cookies and jam for me, which was very nice. The apartment is very accessible, as Ottavian metro station is 7 minutes walk, Carrefour is next door and there are several restaurants exactly downstairs. Also, there is a direct bus from the airport, which stops nearby!
There was a bit of a smell when I just came in. Someone below wrote that it was sewerage, but it's not. Just open windows for a while and it will go away so don't let it disappoint you, this apartment is well worth staying and enjoying Rome!

Verified reviewOur two night stay in early November at Sistine Chapel View Rooms exceeded our expectations and we certainly would try to book the room upon another visit to Rome. The room was very large with windows overlooking the nearby Sistine Chapel and the several restaurants nearby. The private bathroom attached to the room was beautiful and modern.

Verified reviewIt is really at the gate of Vatican Museum entrance, metro is also close. Although my room was not ready (it was not cleaned due to some problems) while I check-in on time and had to wait for a while, the attitude of Camilla, the house owner or manager, was so sincere and acted in problem solving manner. She even came to the room to check the situation and apologize many times in person for this inconvenient situation and even give me a small gift :) Thank you Camilla! In general, I can definitely recommend this place!
It is not a think I “dislike” but an information for the people would like to consider this place. As it is not a hotel room do not expect shampoo or shower gel. But it would be good to have small ones :)

Verified reviewI loved that it was absolutely spotless, the bed was very comfortable with enough pillows. Everything was new including the air conditioning and outlets. Enough outlets well placed. I like that you do not need to have a degree in engineering to figure out the air conditioner or the shower. I liked the utube video- it was very helpful. Communication was excellent and immediate. The room was very cosy and comfortable. I think there are only two rooms and a shared kitchen. Spotless. The room is exactly like the picture on Booking . The room was mostly very quiet. Tons of restaurants in the area. Watch out for da Paolo just up the street by the Vatican museum wall, total tourist rip off.
I did not like absolutely no toiletries, not even a bit of soap in the shower. The room was very small and fine for me but I was a solo traveler. I stayed 3 nights, no change of towels or sweep the floor even once. I really did not like the cleaner coming Sunday morning around 8:30a.m. and making enough noise to ensure I was well awake, it was going to be my relax day.

In addition, the cleaning lady entered the apartment at 9.45 a.m. because I personally remotely opened the door of the building for her. However, I would like to point out that you left the room and the bathroom in a pitiful condition, I am surprised that you were alone for the mess and dirt we found. One last consideration concerns the shower door that you broke, leaving it hanging outside the sliding tracks, without even communicating to me at your check out. Position 7.5??? In front of Vatican Museum? It sound a bit strange. Anyway I hope you hard good time in Rome
