This was the best hotel stay of our entire Italy trip! All the staff were so lovely and helpful from the minute we arrived. They went above and beyond to make our stay great. Fantastic breakfast with fresh food. And the location was perfect because there was a beautiful little beach in walking distance, but also in a good position to explore the rest of the coast with the car.

The night route to go back in at night… a bit too long.

Our double room with ensuite bathroom and a little (shared) terrace were wonderful. Also the shower in the swimmingpool toilets came in very handy on our last day. We are thankful we could have a shower after checkout, after going to the beach, before leaving.

Things that were beyond control of the staff really like the broken air conditioning!

Staff were EXCEPTIONAL. We had a few issues with air conditioning on our first night with our infant and they worked so hard to help us get a new room (which was a little downgrade for us) but ensured the rest of our stay we had plenty of drinks etc to make up for it so they did their best with the situation! Never been treated so so so kindly by staff in any hotel ever! Great location to the beach too and lovely food at breakfast!

Lots of stairs and no lift. Some parts of the hotel need a refresh.

Friendly accommodating staff especially with children. They have umbrellas that you take to the beach and return them once you are back. Free secure parking. Great breakfast with fresh ingredients and great espresso and cappuccino! Location is very quiet and family friendly. If you keep in mind this is an old 3star hotel ....it's good value for money.

Good to aware of it there is no elevator, so might be hard to climb up for older people to the upper floor.

We have arrived to Hotel Solanas with a dog. Sofia, Aurora and a nice lady at the kitchen area made our 5 days stay really special with their kind and helpful attitude. We got a great and very clean room (each day was cleaned our room) on the second floor and there was no problem with the late check -in, we got all of the information on time. Breakfast had wide range of choices, and from the outside terrace we had a great chilling time after the breakfast with our dog. Parking is free of charge. Definitely we will visit this place again!

Parking for only about 10 cars. Having said that we were able to park on property for all 4 days we were there. Also ample free parking on road directly outside property.

Wonderful hotel. Staff were exceptional and couldn’t be more helpful. Nice cool drink when we arrived. A beautiful breakfast and free espresso coffee to go with it. Lent us an umbrella for the beach. Solanas is a village to mix with the locals. Really nice long sandy beach with 3 lidos. 3 or 4 really good pizza and seafood restaurants in the town.

The WiFi would have been great in the rooms but since there was good network coverage we didn’t feel too disadvantaged. Unlimited data packages come in very handy!

It was a lovely family run hotel and it was very clean. The staff were fantastic and so hospitable - they couldn’t do enough for you. The kids loved the pool, it was just a short walk from the beach and even though there weren’t many restaurants, what were there offered some great food.

Due to the location there is only one other pace to eat close to main road. The supermarket has very limited essentials so is advisable to bring whatever needed from the city. Otherwise there was nothing else I did not like.

We had been moved by Sofia (the owner of the Solanas hotel) to Il Monastaro hotel. Sofia is an excellent communicator, and reassured us we would not be disappointed with the hotel move. Il Monastero most certainly did exceed our expectations. Il Monastero is indeed an oasis with great facilities for a quiet break surrounded by stunning mountainous scenery in the Geremeas countryside. The property is an hour away from Caglairi and a 5 minute downhill walk from bus stop. Coach bus at train station (runs every 3 hours or so) everything was easy to navigate. Even the 10 minute coach journey to Solanas worked out when timed well. The hotel has two lovely beaches about 10 minute walk. The triple room was spacious, with a mini fridge, large bathroom, comfortable beds and a balcony. Is in my opinion an almost four star hotel. A wonderful experience.

- Wi-Fi only works near the reception – not even available at the pool area - Air conditioning in our rooms was barely functional; it blew air but not cold - Room 22 lacked a mosquito net, contrary to what was stated on Booking.com – and we had mosquito problems at night - We had to keep the window closed in Room 22 due to a noisy AC inverter from another room right outside - The safe in Room 21 was broken with detached wires - Elevator was out of order during our stay - Whenever someone used the bathroom in the room above, there was a strong smell of sewage in our own bathroom (Room 21) - Shared terrace with neighbors – not private - Only two chairs on the terrace and no table, so no comfortable way to sit in the evening - No electric kettle in the room - No toys or pool floaties available, which would’ve been nice for kids - Poolside music was too loud for our taste – we would have preferred more quiet
