How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewOnly the collection of the key was OK, and the host was kind to put an extra bed into our room for our kid.
It was one of the worst accomodations I have ever stayed at.. First, it was terribly unclean, the floor, the shelves, the toilet, even though a cleaning was done before the stay in the morning. We even didn't want to use anything in the kitchen as they were a bit sticky. On top of that, the room was smelling bad, especially there was a door to a small storage for the mop etc, and it was disgustingly smelling when you opened that door. In addition to the above, the bed textile was not really clean and tidied up nicely, and even the pillows had large yellow stains due to the dirt. 🤢 Second, even though it is close to Vatican City, the location was pretty 'unsafe' as the streets around and in front were a bit too uncrowded, and the entrance to the room was in a through a dark backyard. It didn't feel like a residential area, rather in a workshop. Especially at nights, there were weird noises in the neighbourhood and was a bit scary.

Ant infestation for some reason they crawled through door and we didn't even have any food in the room besides water or coffee. Water heater went out the day before we left.

The entire apartment was out of power for for an entire day. The air conditioning didn't work very well.
Hello, unfortunately that days we had a public electric issue, all the area had no power and it has been fixed soo. We totally understand this is frustrating for someone in vacation and disappointing, but it is not depended from our faults. And this has to be considered. All the best!

Verified reviewGreat location with lots of good restaurants nearby. Close to San Pietro station with good access to buses and trains. The host is lovely and super helpful! Super responsive also.
Generally the place was fine. The place was quite dusty, especially the headboard of the bed. The floors could have also been cleaner. Some signs of wear and tear on kitchen cabinets although this didn't bother us.

The property needed a freshen-up. The walls were dirty were many bugs had been squashed. The shower drained exceptionally slowly, so you were standing in water. The fridge was flooded with water and had to be cleaned before it could be utilised. The safe could not be used as it was locked and there were no Instructions on how to unlock and use it. There was a duvet in a draw for use that was not clean and had some sort of stains/ dried food on it.

Verified reviewThe location was great right outside Vatican City with bus stations close by. The fact that “breakfast” was included in a cafe nearby is a plus. Another must is that it was a quiet area.
The room was dusty. We actually had to clean up surfaces to leave our staff on. The bathroom wasn’t in a great shape either.

Verified reviewIts location and the parking garage! Vinz was great, easy to communicate with and very nice and helpful.
It was a challenge getting the keys, dealing with lock box, and then finding the rooms. The videos were helpful to some extent. One of the apartments was on a 3rd floor far away from the other two apartments on the ground floor. It appeared like it was someone’s apartment we were borrowing for the weekend. There was laundry out front drying. It may some feel unsafe. Was unaware of the exact cost of the parking since it was not mentioned prior to staying there. We never used the free breakfast vouchers.

Actually I received a call from one of you asking whete the apartment was, so I guess was meant my instructions were totally ignored. The laundry hasn't the dryer because in Italy we are not use to have the dryer as a standard, and also is not mentioned in our listing. About the parking spot, on our advert is clear the parking is not for free and have daily costs, when the guests ask to us about that, we explain size of the spots and price, and the guests can refuse or accept.
