Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The apartment is very clean, lots of space, good location, but what stands out the most is the incredibly helpful and friendly owner. If you are in Palermo, this is definitely the place. I highly recommend it.

More as information than a complaint - it is difficult to get a vehicle to the front door given the market at the end of the street and the narrowness of the street. Our drivers parked in surrounding streets and came and got us so it wasn't really a problem.
Staying in the "real" Palermo with locals. Close to the city centre - shops, restaurants/cafes and sights. Riccardo gave us good tips for restaurants, including a local pizza place for locals. Great, cheap pizzas. The room was large, comfortable and clean. There is a fully equipped kitchen if you want to cook for yourself.

My wife needs Smart-TV at the sleeping room, but this is our very personal remark
Our travel idea was to see Palermo life as it is (not only a touristic bright picture), then to get in touch with the history, cross-walk at the city heart, travel through the noisy but lovely streets of the city and dig deep into Ballaro market with an option to cook local food by ourselves, so those apartments were right and good choice to get what we planned. Short walking distance to anywhere, exceptionally good-fitted (shared between guests) kitchen, bright, colored and nice-dressed rooms with very good, comfortable and clean beds. Apartments are remarkably clean. Lift to the 3-rd floor. All dispensable items are in stock. Owner Riccardo is always available with valuable advices and tips.

Nothing! everything was perfect!
Great stay and great discovery of Palermo with family ! Large bedroom and large bathroom. Ricardo and Chiara were adorable hosts and very good advice! We felt at home, this made our stay even more incredible! Maya will remember her 7th birthday at the Palermo Opera! Thanks a lot Ricardo & Chiara! See you in Versailles!

Slightly further walk from town than expected - not a problem with the room just Palermo is less walkable than expected
The location was great, the host couldn’t have been more accommodating if we tried - early check in was allowed and they went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable - let us keep our bags there and even gave us suggestions for sicilly. 10/10 host.

Everything was excellent, but... We booked two rooms, and downstairs there were 3-4 rooms, and there were other guests staying there, and everyone shared one bathroom. That was a bit awkward, not a big problem, but would've liked to know about it ahead of time.
The location was excellent, very close to the city center. The host was amazinggg!! He helped us arrange transportation from the stay to the airport.

all was wonderful but the location is right on the edge of the safer part of the old town and there are some buildings under renovation and some noisy neighbours

I liked everything.
This has to be the cleanest place in all of Sicily. Really spotlessly clean and with nice products, not with harsh smelling chemicals. The bed is very comfortable and the host is very accommodating and speaks English well,

Fully equipped kitchen and amazing room. Location is perfect, just next to Ballarò street market, where you can eat typical Sicilian food for cheap. Also, free parking downstairs. The host is kind and happy to help with tips about Palermo.

One needs to be aware that the kitchen and common area of the flat may be shared with other guests, which was not absolutily obvious from the description on the website. For us it was not a problem, though.
The location is very authentic for the old part of Palermo. Close to many attractions and to the main station. The flat is very spacious and lift is a bonus. Ricardo is a very nice and helpful host.
