How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

All good
Location , easy access from Train and then to Ferry . Close for cafes and restaurants as well. My wife loved the tea and coffee in room - Not always there in Italy.

Exterior not that attractive because as Nicola explained the city was heavily bombed during the war, the inside is a hidden gem so you just need to see past this! There are beautiful areas to explore in the city.
Close to cruise terminal, restaurants etc. Spotlessly clean and comfortable and above all Nicola and his wife could not be nicer more helpful people, Amazing. If we cruise from Rome again we will definitely be back!!! Grazie Mille Nicola! Restaurant recommendation was great too 😋

The only downside is because there is no "lobby", when it is checkout time you gotta move out. There is a common area with table and chairs but they can't be used after checkout to stay a little longer. The owner recommended us to drop off the luggage at a store right next door which we did, and then spent the time until hopping on the cruise in a cafe (4 hours or so).
Very friendly staff, owner picked us up from the airport (paid extra, of course) and got us to the room earlier without having to pay extra for early checkin! Our room (main bedroom & bathroom) was very comfortable, it had everything we needed for this one night. All modern and in great shape, clean and everything.

Central location, lovely bedroom & bathroom with a kitchen adjoining which served the 3 rooms. Super clean, well thought through & high spec. Host Nicola very helpful and attentive, recommended an excellent restaurant My Lord.

Nicola was a great host. He met us the day we checked in and showed us everything in the apartment. He gave us some excellent recommendations for dinner and breakfast the next morning. The apartment was very clean and comfortable, and very conveniently located to the shuttle bus stop that took us to the port. Will definitely stay there again if we sail from Civitaveccia.

Nicola did all that he could to make sure we had a most enjoyable start to our bucket list vacation. While he had no control over the heat he collected us from the airport and drove us to his accommodation. Along the way he provided much in the way of history. Once we arrived his dear wife took the car because parking is tight and he walked us across to the building in which he had created 3 suites for guest. The 3 person elevator delivered Bea and I to the 3rd floor while Nicola climbed the stairs. We entered his group of suites by way of a common area for all guest to either congregate or cook. The 3 suites were on the parameter on the common area. With key in hand Nicola opened the door to or suite. What a gorgeous one bedroom and bath complete with A/C, TV, mini fridge and safe. There were amenities in the bathroom I'll leave out for you to see. He and his brother really did an awesome job creating this home away from home for short term travelers. I'm mad at myself for not taking pictures. Once our stay was over Nicola for a small fee drive is to the ship. When I say drive us to the ship it would have been impossible for anyone to get closer then he did. It helps when you have the right credentials. Nicola thank you too you and your wife for making the start of our vacation great! We will be back, but when it's cooler it was waaaaay too 🔥 🥵 ! Nicola we have you on WhatsApp lol. The owners went out of their way to help us in any way possible. From restaurant recommendations, sights to see, pick up at airport to transporting us directly to our ship. Yes, additional charges for all transportation, but well worth it.

We arrived in Civitavecchia after a cruise. Nicola offered to pick us up at the Cruise Wharf and also organised a transfer for us to Rome airport the following day. Communication with Nicola was excellent prior to us arriving. He provided recommendations for our short stay in Civitavecchia. The room was excellent, clean and modern, very central and perfect for our requirements.

Everything was perfect!
The location was perfect for the day/night before cruise. Nicola picked us up at airport right when we walked out the door even though flight was late. Room, especially bathroom was immaculate & perfect. The recommended restaurants were the best ever. Then Nicola took us to the port. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Great location in the center of town. Super clean and modern room. Comfy beds. Good internet. Nicola has great food and coffee recommendations. It was our last night before leaving Italy and we just wanted something close(ish) to the airport without going back to Rome. It ended up a very pleasant surprise.

All of the modern amenities were so easy to use. The bed was incredibly comfortable with the option of two different kind of pillows to sleep on. The shower had great heat and water pressure, and I loved the little gummy candles left out for us to nibble on. The location was also super central and easy to find.
