Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe bathroom shower was the smallest cubicle I’ve ever seen and the door wouldn’t shut fully which made it even worse. Thankfully my partner and I are slim, but could be a struggle for some.
Details from the owner were great and we found the entrance relatively easily. The location was great, we arrived on foot, but perfect for the train station too. The apartment was a little tired compared to the photos, but all clean and comfortable. The outside terrace was great for sitting out at and having somewhere to dry off some clothes.

Malaysiai thought the apartment was bigger (from the photos), is more like 2 rooms (with a door between) but with a curtain in a kind of open wall (not sure why the door was needed). So it was less private than i had hoped.
The owner was fantastic. Helped us check in and check out. Explained things clearly. Location was great in the heart of town. Cute village.

United StatesOh my goodness, what a climb. I suspect that is the case with any place in the area but hauling our luggage up the many flights of narrow stairs was a feat. This spot is on the top floor which means a lot of climbing, but that also means good views. The door to the apartment opens to the bathroom and one more small flight of stairs. The bathroom is extremely small and the shower was the tiniest we've experienced in our travels but it worked just fine.
What's not to love about a quirky apartment with two gelato places right outside? The host was helpful allowing us to enter a tiny bit early since we had luggage and wanted to drop off before wandering around Vernazza. The spot is quite close to the Vernazza train station and immediately across from a luggage storage business which we used the following morning. It worked well for our family of 4 adults since it had a queen bed and two twins in an adjoining room (but with an open large window/wall between the two). There was a small refrigerator and kitchenette. We enjoyed the patio especially at night and in the morning. There was AC in the apartment. I loved watching the older Italian neighbors hang their laundry on their patios in the morning and open their windows to peek below and watch the village begin to wake and become busy.

Location was great, right in the middle of everything & so near train station, restaurants, grocery/mart, simply everything. Stairs to unit quite steep but normal in the area, & can be an another adventure to conquer. Really great place!

United States- The 4-5 flights of stairs leading up to the apartment were pretty steep and slick. As a young physically fit couple, we even had trouble lugging our bags up and down the stairs. - The hot water in the shower went out a couple of times which obviously wasn't ideal. - Check-in was pretty difficult upon arrival, the cleaning staff was still in the apartment and the property manager was only available to speak over the phone and there was a clear language barrier to overcome.
- The location was incredible (in the heart of the Vernazza and a couple minutes walk to the train station, but surprisingly quiet). - The apartment was very spacious and comfortable (could easily fit up to four people). - We really enjoyed the large terrace space which gave us an amazing view of the city which was absolutely beautiful. - Very comfortable bed. - AC was a big plus and kept us very comfortable throughout our stay.

United KingdomMichel was very hospitable, welcomed us at the apartment and even carried some of our luggage up the stairs. It was great to have air con in the apartment.Rooms were comfortable and clean, and it was great to spill out onto the balcony, and even eat dinner as a family there one night! Bathroom was tidy but very small. Location was excellent. We loved our stay at the Terrace and would highly recommend to young families.

AustraliaLots of stairs. You need to be fit and healthy to climb each day… but worth the town view each night from the balcony.
Wonderful location, close to restaurants, shops and the beautiful Vernazza port. Close to the train station to visit the famous Cinque Terre towns.

SpainNothing really
The place was very clean and the bed very comfortable. It was a 1 minute walk from the station, which made it easy to reach and quick when traveling around the other towns of Cinque Terre. The terrace was very nice, table, chairs, etc was all as new and clean. I did not mind going up the stairs. Staff was kind and of the 4 nights, a quick cleaning was made by the cleaning person. We were asked about arrival and the place was ready when we came a bit earlier

Authentic unit in the heart of Vernazza. We wanted to experience the style housing in town and this unit was perfect. Unit was centrally located, well presented, and well equipped. Communication from owner great and really enjoyed our stay. Unit located 4th floor of building with great views of main st. It involves climbing 4 flights of narrow stairs but well worth the effort.

United StatesFirst offsite parking is 20 euro a day not the stated 15. It a hike down and worse back up from where shuttle stops. If you can’t do 40 steep steps to the so called Terrace Apt. it really is an attic with a hot plate. Doors are dwarf size. Open the apartment door and you look right at the bathroom and more steps. Night time trips to the bath are dangerous. The shower is the smallest ever ever ever. Less than 24”x24”. Woman don’t plan to shave your legs the entire stay. You can barely move especially since door will not stay closed so use your butt to push on it during the shower because you need every inch possible. Kitchen is the most ridiculous ever. No stove/oven just a hot plate and a microwave. Utensils are worthless. We bought some bread from a farmer market but had only a butter knives to cut it. So we ripped pieces off to eat. WiFi is super slow. Bedroom is just a bed in a room No closet or European built in. No window just a pass through and a door to the next room with two beds no closet and the ceiling is very low. Leading to the balcony/terrace the door is about 5’6” and hit my head multiple times and I’m 5’11”. Really look hard at the provided pictures and I mean hard. If you don’t believe me than good luck but I’m in the vacation rental business and could never provide this type of place or I would have been out of business 30 years ago.

AustraliaArrived at appartment with no instructions on how to get in even after emailing owner twice through app. Building door was open so walked up 4 flights of stairs with bags only to have to call the owner and walk down stairs again to get the key to the door. The bathroom was really little and door on to the curve of steep stairs so bit tricky even for nimble people.

Dominican RepublicThe stairs but we got used to them since in all the places visited in Cinque Terre high stairs are a common thing.
The place is amazing, location premium in the heart of Vernazza. Very clean, good quality of towels and bed sheets and comfortable, with everything we needed for our stay, gave us a bottle of Prosecco as welcoming gift that we enjoyed in the incredible terrace with chaise lounges. The stairs are a little bit high but it is natural to Cinque Terre since the towns are in the mountains. We definitely recommend this excellent place to stay!!
