How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe location is perfect, the view from the hotel is amazing. The road up is windy but the cable car access to the city is super convenient. The decor is very stylish and new.
While I have no problem with the temperature, my friends did find the room a bit too warm at night for sleeping, and the aircon was not enabled in the room. The breakfast has a wide selection of sweet cakes but a bit lack of salty options. Boiled eggs and specks were the only option offered for savoury for 3 days

Verified reviewWe loved everything about our stay at Hotel Trento Alta. From the warm welcome we received from Silvana, to the beautiful surroundings and the peaceful and serene interiors, this place has a very special feeling about it. The location was also fantastic as its away from the bustle of Trento, but you can be down to the cable car after 3 minutes walk from the hotel , and 3 minutes then takes you down into Trento, so it was easy to get around to everywhere from there. The room was really beautiful, everything was like new- spotlessly clean and very comfortable, with everything you need for a lovely stay. We ate in the restaurant 1 night and had a delicious meal, the food was really good and they are so nice in the restaurant it's definately worth eating there 1 night during a stay in the hotel. Silvana and her son are so lovely, we felt really at home. They were so friendly and helpful with everything, they told us about lots of nice places to go and see, and really wanted to help make our stay as nice as possible. It's really the nice feeling Silvana has created in the hotel that makes a stay here so wonderful- thanks Silvana for everything, we will be back!!
There was nothing!

Verified reviewThis is a new hotel (12/2024), modern yet very comfortable. It’s quiet, secure and affords stunning views of Trento and the Dolomites. Best of all are the owners, Silvana and Roberto, who were a delight with their helpful and friendly suggestions. Be sure to go to their adjacent bistrot + restaurant for a truly exceptional meal at reasonable prices. It’s better than Michelin star restaurants we’ve been to.
Nothing; it was an exceptional two night stay. And the nearby cable car made it so easy to get to the historic center of Trento without having to drive our car. A bit hard to find if you are relying on your GPS. Just keep driving up the hill and around to the viewpoint parking lot, then up a short driveway.

Verified reviewMy stay at the Hotel Trento Alta was truly exceptional. The hotel, perched high above Trento, offers breathtaking views of the city and the surrounding valley, inspiring a sense of wonder and anticipation. Silvana and Roberto, the owners, have furnished the hotel with great attention to detail, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Their personal touch is evident in every aspect of the hotel, from the decor to the service. They are wonderful hosts, always ready to assist and ensure your stay is memorable. The rooms are large, beautifully furnished, and the balcony offers a fantastic view. The breakfast is plentiful and delicious, and in the evening, you can enjoy excellent food in the hotel's adjoining restaurant. This is a hotel where you should stay at least once in your life.

Verified reviewWonderful newly constructed hotel that was minimalist and cozy at the same time. The room was spacious and with great liking. Apparently there are even bigger ones and one that has a built in sauna. The view from the hotel is breathtaking. The host was very approachable and helpful. Even though we had a car we are so glad we took her suggestion to make a cable car ride which by the way is always free for guests of the hotel for the duration of the stay. Check out the reviews for the bistro with the same name next to the hotel. I would gladly stay there again!

Verified reviewOur stay at Trento Alta, though short, was absolutely delightful! We arrived late on 24/12, stressed from a last-minute trip, but the owners immediately made us feel at home. They even invited us for a beer later that evening to celebrate Christmas Eve, which was such a warm and thoughtful gesture. The building itself is stunning, and the room we stayed in was spacious with modern amenities, including a TV with Netflix. Everything felt fresh and new. The views are one of the absolute highlights of this place, especially during sunrise—it’s breathtaking. Another standout was the breakfast, which was huge, incredibly tasty, and featured traditional Trento dishes. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone. I’m already looking forward to coming back in the summer to explore the amazing hiking trails that start right from the property. Although the location is perched high above the city, it’s super convenient thanks to the nearby funicular, just a few meters away.
Thanks Felipe for the nice review! It was a pleasure to meet you. We hope to see you again soon! Silvana and Roberto
